This won't be a convincing arguement to most YEC'ers -- they'll just dismiss the dating methods as being flawed.

I have a YEC friend and that's basically his thought process.  You can't use any evidence that uses radiometric or cardon dating because, in his eyes, it's wrong.

It won't matter what the dates are. WinAce's point is you've got examples of dried poop in all sorts of different rock layers. And if some of those layers were layed down by a cataclysmic flood, then why is there dried poop in them?

No comment from the YECs as yet. I guess they don't really give a coprolite that there is no possible scientific justification to their beloved worldwide flood.

Hey! You guys are so full of coprolite...

How do you know that it is what you say it is? Have any of you actually found one in your excavations? Or are you exercising faith in what some stranger with a degree or two says?

No really, are these coprolites fossilized?

Btw, I'm not a yec or a oec and that's all I'm going to say about that for now...

Ah, yes.  Conspiracy thoeries. Always calculated to garrner respect and serious consideration of your point.

The finds are well documented, the processes for analyzing them are well documented.  There is no reason to start playing "what if the whole scientific world is lying to us?"

Now I'm starting to think you guys are involved in some kind of conspiracy ...Again, the question remains...Are those coprolites fossilized?

Yes, I would think a 50 million year old piece of poop would probably have to be fossilized. You could always give it a sniff to be sure...

You did read the "background info on coprolites" links I posted, didn't you?

Suffice it to say that coprolites ARE fossilized. Heck, there's even an entire industry that sells fossilized dung as gag gifts...
