Sounds to me like there are a lot of women that don't want to be responsible for themselves and don't mind degrading themselves as the price. To me, the story about Eve coming from Adam's rib is to teach us that women aren't just another animal for man to rule over. That they, like Adam's sons, came from the same creature and are therefore of equal worth. Women aren't just some baby making accessory for men, but a body with a soul, no different from the one inside a man. Why should one soul 'submit' to another, just because their bodies are different? Seems as bizarre and unfair as a caste system.

I'd rather my wife submit to God, then submit to a sinner like me.

As far as dating is considered, there are many women I would have dated, had they asked me out, even though I wouldn't have asked them out. With that, I'm sure there were and are girls that would be willing to go out with me if I asked, that probably don't have strong enough feelings for me to bother asking me out. I think it's silly to think a relationship should start just because a man wants it to.
I agree that woman are equal to men God does not love one more than the other.
Actually in heaven there will be no gender in us. We will be like angles not given to marrige or be in married. Marrige is only some thing on earth.

Althouhg I agree that woman are equal to men God for some reason decided to make genders on earth and told us that woman should submit to the Men.
But like I said before men have to take care of the woman as the selfs
and as Christ took care of the church to the point of givng his life for her.

God KNOWS that is the best for us (having 2 genders) and he made each one of us the gender we are for a reason.

No. He doesn't, never has, never will. There is neither male nor female in Christ; we are people, and we are equal before Him, and He sees us that way. Don't let cultural baggage come between you and God, or between you and the path God has laid out before you.

. I affirm the Nicene Creed.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -- Romans 8:38-39

I like the pic on your little bar up there. I like that new feature. Please let me know when you are able to post your pics in the Member Photos forum.

Is John Eldredge's book specifically for guys or is it for guys and gals? I'm always looking for new books to read. I've read all of Joshua Harris's books and am hoping to purchase Leslie Ludy's "Authentic Beauty" after Christmas. I've asked for a gift card from the Family Christian bookstores.

Wouldn't that be the husband has power over both bodies? Looks like this is calling for a totally equal relationship regarding power betwen the husband and wife over each other.
Hey stay bullet that passage is regarding sexual relations. It is not regarding overall athority in the househould. The bible clearly states that the woman should submit to the husban and that the man should treat the woman as his ownbody and not like a servant.

I think Wild at Heart is more directed at men, But i also think its a good book to show the ladies a mans heart. Ive read I kissed dating goodbye and boy meets girl and both of those books really pulled hard on my heart.

Same here! Praise God! I read Boy Meets Girl first and God really laid it upon my heart to read I Kissed Dating Goodbye. I also have his New Attitudes cassette tapes. They're really good. I can relate to Joshua Harris, especially since he was homeschooled like me.
