I don't watch Pat much at all but I agree with his statement, "...to assassanate a dictator than to send in a full scale invasion."
If you recall, the late great Ronald Regan sent our war planes to try to kill Omar Kadafi. We missed him, but did kill members of his family. Omar has been real quiet since then. I would much rather have the U.S. kill an Omar or a Hugo Chavez than to sacrifice our guys if we don't have to. I always thought that Pat shouldn't have back peddled from his statement.
Amen brotha!
We could all take some lessons from the Klingons[well, they wouldn't assassanate as it's supposedly not "honorable"].
So many cowards out there

My husband has known Pat for what seems like a gazillion years. While in his early 20's, my husband worked at the CBN TV station.
Because my husband is disabled and Pat knew that, when he would make mistakes Pat often showed him grace and found other jobs for him to do at the station, keeping him on far longer than others might have done in the same situation.
Way back when, Pat used to run a teenage coffee club called "The House of the Rizen Son" where he would bring in speakers and new recording artists. That's how my husband got to meet Evie.
We are supporters of the 700 club and have been for years. Our church also worked thru their "Operation Blessing" to help the hurricane victims.
One of the things i respect about him is if there was ever a question about his beliefs or statements or actions as a Christian, he would seek the counsel of the Lord and of trusted others. If he was wrong he would back down, say he was wrong publically, and appologize, making sure that the appology got just as much notice as the action which brought it on.

In fond memory of the Relaxation and Culture team, and it's hard-working staff. Jan-July, 2009 R.I.P.

That is excellent! A view into his heart. It isn't often that you get to see that about someone on television. It gives a whole new perspective. Thanks for sharing.
Love him. And Terry and Gordon and Kristi. I watch almost every day. I love the Spirit around the program.
I love that Pat is a well-educated intellectual and can hold his own against the arrogant unbelievers who are so quick to dismiss Christians as simple-minded and uneducated fools.
I have always had (even when I was pre-saved) a particular fondness for giving to the needy. I love Operation Blessing, to which I frequently give. With great JOY because I know that I know that I know that the money is really being used to bless the needy or devastated in so many ways.
I hope we have changed any negative atmosphere that might be around them all today with this thread. Thanks for starting it, JTM3.
Father, I praise You and thank You from the bottom of my heart for the gift that is Pat Robertson and the whole 700 club. I ask for a special blessing on them all today. Bless them in the way they need it most, Lord. Send out the angels to pick up any traps the enemy may have set for them so they do not stumble. And I thank You for all the people whose hearts You are now preparing for salvation and deliverance and healing through that program today! In Jesus' Name, amen!

Thank you for the personal testimony - it's always heart warming to find out a TV personality is kind and genuine behind the scenes as well.

There is nothing like a few contraversial statements every now and then to boost ratings. Contraversy is nothing but free advertisment.

I can say amen to this pdudgeon. I was a volunteer phone counselor at CBN several times over the years and I have a lot of respect for how they conduct the ministry. I met some beautiful prayer counselors there as well.
The main building, the school (Regent), as well as Founders Inn are all tastefully done, but not extravagant. He started out in a run down shack about a mile from the house where I grew up. They had pathetic equipment to work with and one or two people who came in to answer the phone calls for prayer.
But God blessed the ministry to what it is today. Somebody asked Pat what he wanted to be remembered for. He said that he wanted to be one of those who helped advance the Kingdom of God in his generation.
