Gatherings with my husband's family used to mean lots of political diatribes and even debates (since hubby was turning moderate). His brother is a Rush Limbaugh fan and his parents are Republicans. We were Republican, too, for a while, but got more and more moderate until now we're Independent, so hubby got a lot of political venom directed at him.
Fortunately, his brother found a wife and had something new to think about. Family gatherings have been a lot quieter since then.
That's especially good since hubby has just declared he's voting Democrat this time around.....There's another family gathering this weekend. I wonder how that'll go.....
Just the thought of Christians not getting so wrapped up in politics, sounds heavenly.
