Mark 6:11 "And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!"
If Jesus said this today, multitudes of Christians would say he was "unloving"..... yet, we know Jesus is the ultimate love. Why do we so subjectively accuse others, including our brethren, of being unloving all the time???
This scripture is very strong... very divisive... very exclusionary.
As I asked before, yet no one answered me. Is anyone here going to accuse God of being unloving? If not, why so eager to accuse your brethren of it?

You won't get any argument from me... Good post...

There is nothing unloving whatsoever about this verse.. It is strong.. and the Truth.. God's Word about what would happen to those who rejected Him..
Everyone in the areas where the apostles traveled were given a chance to hear the Word..
If they rejected it, so be it.. they were in charge of their own fate..
The apostles were not to fight & argue with them about their decision not to accept.. they were to shake the dust off their feet & leave..
They were just to present the Truth.. and I believe their approach to presenting that Truth could have been vital as to whether they were heard or not..
And that fate still awaits those that do not accept Jesus..
God bless you,
Glenda

ht Mat 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and let him bear his cross, and let him follow Me.
Mark 6:11 "And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!"
Its our responsibility to preach the gospel without compromise. We do all we can to reach them but there comes a point when , unfortunately, this is what we have to do, when some refuse to listen.
But the Lord is longsuffereing and patient. and we should not give up on them until the Lord directs.

If we don't move on we may miss going to those who may very well receive the Word of God gladly.

Oh! good point!!!
and yes, absolutely we have testified in the main forum for a long while, so those who have been there have had ample opportunity to hear the truth.
But there are always new people comming in who may not have heard. so it's not a bad idea to visit once in a while, put in our two cents worth of wisdom, and leave a 'calling card' directing them here if they wish to know more.
(but no, that's not a spot where i would choose to camp out.)

Mat 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead [men's] bones, and of all uncleanness.
Jesus said this too.

Because nobody now days wants to be a leader of a flock of sheep. They just want to blend in with the flock, and we can all love each other, as we all run right over the cliff. But, hey, were all together, lying at the bottom of the cliff in one big bunch of fluffy wool.. LOL.
