If Jesus said this today, multitudes of Christians would say he was "unloving"..... yet, we know Jesus is the ultimate love. Why do we so
subjectively accuse others, including our brethren, of being unloving all the time???
This scripture is very
strong... very
divisive... very
exclusionary.
As I asked before, yet no one answered me. Is anyone here going to accuse God of being unloving? If not, why so eager to accuse your brethren of it?
I agree with the assesment and comments about this scripture.
The failure to accept the Gospel concerning Jesus by a town, Jesus instructed for this time to treat it in the way described.
Today we live under Grace, where God is a God of the second, third, fourth, ten thousands, etc., chance.
If He was not everyone of us on this forum would not be here. It still goes back to the commandments we were given on which everything else in God's Kingdom hangs.
Love the Lord your God with all your strenth, might ,mind, etc.
AND; Love your neighbor as yourself.
That means nowadays if some one rejects Jesus hopefully they will get another chance and if we have anything to do with it we do everything in our authority to hold that person up with hope that they will accept.
If some one rejects our beliefs?
