Question Would you support abortion under special circumstances?

Ok, this is the third time I've posted this since the last time I posted this I accidentally double posted and got them both deleted, but here goes.

Anyway, just want to know what people think. Leave your comments here.

EDIT: Personally, I think that if the life of the mother were in danger, then abortion should be allowed. But I really think it should be up to the mother to make that judgement and no one else, unless of course there is a 100% chance that both the mother and the baby will die. It would be suicide to continue that pregnancy--an even worser sin. It is better to lose one life than to lose them both.

When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near." --Luke 21:25-28 (NIV)

I would only support it if the mother's life were in danger. And only then because our medical technology is not able to save both lives.

Didymus will become famous soon enough
only if mother was in danger--my third pregnecy ended in amiscarriage and i saw the fetus--it was about 12 weeks old and was a tiny little human without a doubt.
I feel in the case of incest or rape the mother could put the baby up for adoption but having never gone through those expierences i don t really know what i would do. I did not really want a third child and was very upset that i was pregent but abortion was only a fleeting thought.

Maybe if the mothers life was in danger. But I still think in the eyes of God it is wrong and woe be the mother who does it. They will have to anwer for it at judgement day.

I voted other, if birth and c-section would result in the death of fetus and mother, than I'd have few problems with abortion, one alive instead of both dead. But in cases where only the mother is at risk it becomes more tricky, 'cause she could sacrifice/risk herself for the child... Tough stuff.

I understand this, however, I would face God with confidence on judgment day and answer for my stance if I wanted my wife to have an abortion if her life were in danger because of her pregnancy. I would answer to Him that I was looking out for the wife he had given me, and would rather lose one life than two. I would then add that unless He spoke to me in a very convincing manner saying that He didn't want me to protect my wife in this way, I wasn't going to risk it.

This is also not to mention that until a certain stage in child development, the unborn child can't feel a thing, since the nervous system hasn't been completely developed yet. This means it would be a painless death for the child, versus a painful death for the mother.

You left out an option: Nothing justifies the murder of an innocent child.

I also think that abortion would be permissable only if the life of the mother was in danger. I have never been in that situation, so I don't know what it would be like to make that choice...but hopefully God would guide me in making the right choice or forgive me if I made the wrong one. Jedi, I like your idea of protecting your wife. Great point.
