The Word got me shouting today! I hope you don't mind me sharing with you what excites me. I'm stepping out here, my heart beating wildy within me as I do.
Romans 8:31 > What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who against us? Darby
What do you say?
What do you say when it seems like everything is against you?
What do you say knowing God has predestined you, called you, justified you, and glorified you?
Think about this for a moment. God predestined you, meaning, He planned this long ago.
He called you. This only makes sense knowing He has a plan for you to call you to it. At this point a response is required from you. When you call someone your intent is that they will come. The Lord has called all, not willing that any should perish. Oh that all would answer! You did, and for those who do, He justifies, meaning you have been made righteous, the same righteousness as Jesus. You are in the same exact standing before God as Jesus, and since you are, He has glorified you. His glory is on you, justified one! And if you haven’t answered, do it right now, this very minute.
Yes, you’ve not only been justified, but glorified. His glory is in you.
John 17:10 > and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them.
John 17:22 > "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; NASB
What do you say?
What so you say when something comes against you?
32 > He who, yea, has not spared his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him grant us all things? Darby
How can we possibly think the Lord would withhold something from us? If it is in His Word, it is yours, dear one. This is a rhetorical question. He who spared not His own Son but delivered Him up for us all shall freely give us all things.
32 > He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? NASB
God doesn’t have some type of grading system in heaven by which He determines who is worthy of blessing and who is not. All are worthy by the merit of Jesus, His own Son. You are eligible to receive all of God’s benefits, all of God’s goodness, all from His lavish table because of Jesus! It is not your righteousness. What can you do to ever earn even one iota of God’s goodness? Praise God, saints, it does not depend on us, only in whether we receive His gracious gift, freely given.
33 > Who shall bring an accusation against God's elect? [It is] God who justifies: Darby
How dare the devil bring an accusation against us! It is God Himself who has justified us. It matters not what any other voice says. Pay no mind to the voice in your head that plays over and over your failure. Say to it, “I am justified.” The question asked was, “What shall we say to these things?” Talk back to it. It makes all the difference.
34 > who is he that condemns? [It is] Christ who has died, but rather has been [also] raised up; who is also at the right hand of God; who also intercedes for us. Darby
Jesus died for you. Is He about to change and condemn you now? After the cruel death, the incomprehensible payment made for your justification, will He change His mind to condemn you? Not hardly!
Satan comes up with ludicrous thoughts he would love for us to swallow. He wants you to think these thoughts are your thoughts, or even worse, God’s thoughts about you. Friend, we must be rooted and grounded in this Word, rooted and grounded in God’s love for us. God will not condemn you. He does not condemn those He has called, those who have answered that call, those who are chosen. You have not been chosen to be condemned, but to be justified and glorified. Stand firm. What will you say to these things?
35 > Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? tribulation or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? Darby
Is there anything anywhere that can separate you from Christ’ love? Any problem so big that His love does not reach you? Is there something not mentioned so far that would stand in the way of God’s love reaching you?
36 > According as it is written, For thy sake we are put to death all the day long; we have been reckoned as sheep for slaughter.
37 > But in all these things we more than conquer through him that has loved us. Darby
You better be shouting by now! We have begun by saying, but the volume is increasing; we are shouting! Let this get so big on the inside of you that you shout, “I AM MORE THAN A CONQUEROR. I MORE THAN CONQUER!” Sometimes it is the shouting that gets it big on the inside of us. The Israelites had to shout before the walls of Jericho came down. And it wasn’t just one time either. They marched round and round that city. Where your foot treads is yours.
Start treading. Don’t be idle. Don’t just wish things would be better. Don’t even begin to entertain the notion that God doesn’t accept you. Go back over these verses and say them, for what shall we say to these things?
38 > For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
39 > nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which [is] in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Hallelujah!

Fourth, study the non-Christian religions more sympathetically to find the good that is within them in order to have a more sympathetic approach to the people.”

Until the life of the Christian is so obviously different from the life of the sinner, why should the sinner want what the Christian has?

14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
