"The List" by Robert Whitlow was awesome! The best book I have read recently.
Getting ready to start "The Showdown" by Ted Dekker now, will be my first book by him. |

I would not say he's a good "Christian" author, he's more of the go to church on sunday and nothing else kind of guy, but his writing is superb in my opinion. |

Frank Peretti and Francine Rivers are the closest I've seen to good Christian fiction.
A lot of Grisham's newer stuff certainly borders on Christian fiction ( A Painted House, The Last Juror, etc).
Frank Paretti and Francine Rivers.... yup yup yup. They are my favorite!

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | A Few Other Christian Fiction Options Brad Whittington's Fred Series is one of the best works of fiction I've read. Too often, good fiction is secular and Christian fiction is one-dimensional. Whittington work is a refreshing exception to that rule.
Leif Enger's Peace Like a River is also an exceptional work of fiction with a spiritual slant.
Many others have mentioned Francine Rivers and she really is very good as well. My personal favorite, maybe of all time, is The Scarlet Thread.
I agree that the Left Behind series should have ended about 10 books ago, but you can't argue with the impact it has had in bringing people to Christ. Powerful stuff.
My 10 year old son stumbled across The Exitorn Adventures, including Brill and the Dragonator by Peggy Downing. He absolutely loved them, but many of them are now out of print, so you have to scour used book sites to find them. He loves sci fi and highly recommends this Christian fantasy version. |

Reps: 63,042,239 (power: 63,079) | | Two great authors that haven't been mentioned here are Bill Meyers (my favorites are Eli and the Blood of Heaven trilogy) and Michael Farris ( Anonymous Tip was my favorite but I really like Guilt By Association, too.)
My parents read non-stop and I read whatever they leave around the house. I know he's already been mentioned several times, but all 3 of us really like Frank Peretti's older stuff, especially The Visitation and The Oath. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
