Since the ultimate goal is to actively love one another in the name of our God, we may disagree on doctrines, but we all agree the poor need feeding, we all agree the sick should be tended to, the prisoners visited and the naked clothed.
When we involve ourselves in living out God's love - love in action, knits us together as one body. It's like a little bit of heaven on earth. - A. Blackwell
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing is worth a war, is worse.
"A man who has nothing which he cares more about than he does his personal safety is a miserable creature who has no chance at being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

The feast of first fruits or First Fruits has to do with the first harvest of Barley I believe.
The day Yehoshuah rose from the dead was the day they were to harvest the first fruits.
I always found it ironic that people should use any other name for a day God appointed from the foundation of the world, other than the name God gave it.
Ishtar/Easter is from former idol worship and First Fruits is from God. So I choose to stick with God's idea personally.

Kosher Crisis!
Kosher Crisis!
ok, well most of us here would never bring the forbidden meats into our homes, but there is one unkosher animal that enteres our home without our permission, and that is the pesky bugs/insects!!! Consuming these is just as bad as consuming other unkosher animals, yet all of a sudden they are in my house...these tiny flying bugs 20-30 of them dead in our freezer I found, this only I noticed today...I know they were not there before because I had just cleaned the freezer the week before! They were in our ice and on top of the bags in which we keep our meat n all over the place, I am careful of vegetables and mostly don't buy vegetables which carry pests (such as lettuce) and when I do, I check carefully...wash our legumes, rice, and vegetables well...this is really causing me stress...I'm a clean person!!! what if they lay eggs? yuck I don't even want to think of it! Blah! those pesky bugs, I hate em... I cleaned the freezer, n our kitchen is clean but now I don't know what to do!

Your crisis brings to mind the locust that cover Eygpt, so while you have a little to clean, think how horrible it was to shovel them out your front door. Sin is like that, if you are not too careful, they will come swarming into your life and cover everything. We need to remember to be extra virgil in our efforts to keep sin out of our lives.
Personally, I hope that is the last of the pesky critter you see. I hope that you get to the bottom of why they suddenly appeared, and get rid of it.

yes, I think you meant to quote me I agree with the analogy, sin can come flooding in our door if we're not careful...well now my meat container is covered with foil so they can't get in there, just have to check the ice machine these days, or perhaps go without ice...I just pray they don't reach the refrigerator, I will be helpless...I only see one flying around, I don't know there may be more...I tried to kill it many times, it's too small and fast grrr...I sprayed our front doorway and patio with bleachwater, I don't know that will help...

1 Cor 15:20
But in fact Messiah has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
Hebrews 6:13
Do not yield your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but yield yourselves to God as men who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments of righteousness.
The imagery of this becomes vivid as we recognise Yeshua. The only way I can relate to this is the imagery of die to yourself. The concept is simple - the application takes effort. And he calls out "Follow me"....
