Show me a man who trusts his own righteousness, obedience, devotion, feelings, or anything else of his own, and I will show you a man to whom the blood and righteousness of Christ is worthless. Don Fortner

It often surprises people to learn that God is not always pleased when people worship him. We might be inclined to think that God should be thankful for any attention we give him out of our busy schedules. But worship is not about God's thanking us; it is about our thanking him. And God is not pleased with just anything we choose to do in his presence. The mighty Lord of heaven and earth demands that our worship-indeed, all of life-be governed by his word.
John M. Frame

I rarely get a chance to read, but I am currently reading A Look at Life From God's Great Outdoors by Steve Chapman. Next I hope to read Ann Coulter's "Godless." Now THAT should be interesting.

We have great respect and admiration for Ann Coulter at our house. One of our local talk radio stations has a new afternoon host who is very Libertarian in his politics. He's had Walter Williams on several times, but more importantly has Ann Coulter on every Thursday from 5:00pm to 6:00 pm. so I get to hear her all the time

I started reading 'Desiring God' yesterday. I started the book a year ago, and only got a couple of chapters in. I just wasn't in the 'place' to read it at that point in time because I couldn't get into it. It's definately better this time--I took about 4 o 5 pages of notes just yesterday!

And I'm reading 'final target' by Iris Johansen. I love a good light read! Her books are pretty easy.

I'll have to look for it - both my daughter and I would likely enjoy it a great deal (we love plays and musicals).
