Smile God Continues to Amaze Me!

God is once again showing me how His thoughts are not my thoughts nor His ways my ways. All in accordance to this scripture.

55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

He is also showing me how everything works together so things can happen according to His Will, and in His perfect timing and not our own.

Just before my Dad passed away God showed me something using a dragonfly as an example of our baptism in Christ, and how when we shed our earthly bodies we are given new heavenly bodies, and what we leave behind is nothing more than an empty shell. It brought me great comfort. I just hadn't felt ready to write about it until today. And there is a greater reason for it all.

My younger brother has for a long time been thinking that the Bible is nothing more than a fairy tale like all the others he's heard through his life. Just recently he has stated that he thinks there's a God, and he believes Jesus existed but he doesn't believe that Jesus was the son of God.

After hearing this I thought I needed to write Him a letter and try to point out some scriptures in the old testement to him in an attempt to prove to him that Jesus was the Son of God. I've been praying about what I should write to him, I thought I knew what it should be but I was way off in my own thinking, and was still waiting for the answer to if what I was thinking about writing him was right or not.

Just this morning I got a package from my younger brother in the mail. A Christmas present that arrived late, not late by Gods standards, but only by the worlds. It arrived in Gods perfect timing.

When I opened it I was in awe. It's a ceramic plaque and it has a pond scene with a dragonfly on it. Now I know what I must write to him. A simple thank you letter explaining in detail what God showed me with the dragon fly, and using scriptures to back it up. In order to show him why, and how much the gift he sent means so much to me.

I Thank The Lord for all that He is doing and continues to do, and pray that through all this my younger brothers eyes will be opened to accepting the truth about Jesus so that he will be saved.

God works in the most amazing ways!

Have you posted a prayer in the Prayer forum for your brother and your witness to him?

Ya know, if we Christians would really pay attention to God at Work, I think we would all walk around with our jaws hanging open most of the time. It has taken me my whole life it seems to finally understand how God moves in His time and in His way and not ours.

On a number of occassions I have posted a reply to something posted in a club or even here, thinking nothing special of it, only to get a private response telling me what that reply meant. And I was amazed and went back and reread what I wrote and it appeared to have nothing to do with the subject at all. That is when the chills run the spine and you are aware that God has used you in a special way to speak to another.

Recently I have sat down and made posts and replis here in the forums that I knew when I finished that they were writeen under an anointing because as I began to type, I was constantly deleting words and sentences and retyping them seeming faster than I could think, and when I was finished, I sat back and said, "Huh?". I knew it was not where I had started nor where I intended to finish. But always it spoke to someone in a special way.

This story you tell is so awesome in it's reality, yet so simple in God's plan for our lives. If only we could stop doing "our thing" and somehow truly learn to allow God to do "His thing" through us, we would all be in a state of Bliss all the time.

What is truly awesome here is how God can use the unsaved in His drawing of them to Him. When your brother bought that plaque he had no idea God had him to do that so that you would use that to write God's perfect Words for this occassion. WOW!

Thanks Blindfaith, I haven't posted for prayer as far as serving as a witness to him. But there is a Prayer the Lord gave me before I found out that anything was wrong with my Dad and that he would be passing away. Here's a link to that prayer I have faith that this will be part of the healing that comes on the wings of the storm.

Amen Gerry! It realy does put you in a state of bliss when you can see God working to carry out His will, and knowing he has used you as a vessel to do it. I have had that same experience you speak of about saying something completely off subject but being just the right words that someone needed to hear. not understanding at the time why I was even saying the things I had but finding out later that indeed God had His reason for it.

And yes you're so right about God working through my brother in order to draw him to back to Christ. I had no doubt in my mind that God played a hand in my brother picking out that gift for me. I knew the minute I laid eyes on it what it was that God had done, and is doing.
