Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | The Densities of Ice and Water The density of ice is 0.931 gm/cubic cm. This compares with a density of 1.00 gm/cubic cm. for water. My biology teacher told me that this is extremely important because if ice was more dense than water it would sink to the bottom of any given body of water. If all ice in oceans and lakes sank they would reach the bottom and would never melt because sunlight would not be able to reach and melt it. Most of the water on earth would be locked into ice if ice was denser than water. Very few, if any, organisms would survive in this situation.
Coincidence? This seems to point to a designer keeping the density of ice less than the density of water. |

Most other liquids do the opposite. Originally posted by Scottster Coincidence? This seems to point to a designer keeping the density of ice less than the density of water.
You mean you've already ruled out the possibility of coincidence but forgot to post our reasoning? |

Really a designer who can keep the whole universe in balance should have no problem to keep our lives in balance also. If we would just trust Him. People try to say God is evil and wicked, when nothing could be further from the truth. He is absolute love and He has our tender care in mind. |

Reps: 61 (power: 0) | | Did you know that almost every liquid freezes in liquid hydrogen, but rubbing alcohol doesn't freeze. I guess that means that there is a designer keeping the rubbing alcohol from freezing also.

How did you go from god being able to keep the ice from not sinking to god isn't evil?

Is there anything whatsoever in this post that has anything to do with the density of ice or water? |

Well you would be right in that it is not coincidence...
But putting God in gaps is not good, especialy ones that have already closed...
Water expands when it freezes because of the way that oxygen and the two hydrogen atoms unite. This is due to physics and math, not coincidence and to say that God is specificaly responsible for this while it may be true does nothing to prove or disprove God. |

Yeah that's just what the goverment wants you to think. But the truth is that rubbing alcohol has a very big impact on all life on this planet.
DANG I'm SO FREAKIN BORED TONIGHT!!!!
