Thought for Today:

We read in Psalm 105:3 - "Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!" What a beautiful verse this is. God's name is the only one where glory should be place and given. He is holy and majestic. Too often we put glory on the things of this world, and that is just plain wrong. The psalmist reminds us that we are to seek the Lord, and rejoice in it. We are to seek Him at all times, both good and bad. We are to seek Him during the day, and in the night. The Lord is our comfort and strength. He is the light of the world. God should be what we seek first each and every day. Without the Lord, this world would indeed be a miserable place to live. Today is a good day to reflect on where you are putting the glory. Have you sought the Lord today yet? May God richly bless you.

Thought for Today:

We read in Acts 6:4 - "But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word." What would this world be like if more people did these two things; pray and share the word? Do you pray regularly? Do you take every opportunity to study the word, and share it with others? The apostles knew what they were to do, and they helped to build the early church. Jesus gave all of His people a task, and that was to go into all the nations and preach the word. Some of us are called to the pulpit, others to the mission field, others into hospitals or nursing homes, some onto their knees in prayer. What has God called you to do to further His kingdom? Today is a good day to reflect on your service to the Lord, both in prayer, and in ministering to others with the word. May God richly bless you.

Thought for Today:

We read in 1 Timothy 6:11 - "But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness." This is a very convicting verse. Take a look at the words Paul uses here. Are you and I pursuing all of them? When is the last time your showed true patience in a stressful situation? When were you last gentle with someone instead of being short with them, or perhaps yelling? How deep is your faith in the Lord and the things of God? Do you understand true Biblical love? How many of us can truly call ourselves righteous? So many questions we can ask ourselves. Today is a good day to take some time, and reflect on where each of us stand regarding this list of things we should be pursuing as children of the Lord. May God richly bless you.

Thought for Today:

We read in Isaiah 5:21 - "Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!" Here is a warning to all of us not to think more of ourselves than we should. How many times have we made a decision, thinking it was a wise one, and it turned out to be a disaster? How many times have we thought ourselves important and smart, only to find out we didn't know anything? Chances are , when these things happen, it is because we have tried to do things our own way. We think we know what is right. We make decisions apart from what the Bible tells us. That is always the first mistake. Today is a good day to reflect on how wise and prudent we really are, apart from the Lord. The truth is; we aren't. May God richly bless you.

Thought for Today:

We read in Luke 6:36 - "Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful." Here we have one of the most challenging commandments Jesus ever gave us. Being merciful to others can sometimes be difficult. When we read of Jesus hanging on the cross, we see Him still giving mercy to one of the men dying with Him. Jesus told the man that He would be with the Lord in paradise. Even in the midst of His own suffering, Jesus was showing mercy to another. When we are suffering in our lives, do we show mercy to others, or is the focus always on ourselves? When someone asks our forgiveness, do we grant it? When someone needs our help, do we always stop and assist them? When a person is hurting, do we try everything we can to heal the hurt? These are all aspects of mercy. Today is a good day to reflect on how much mercy we show others. If we are honest with ourselves, we will discover that being merciful is an area we could all use some help in. May God richly bless you.

Thought for Today:

We read in Job 28:12 - "But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?" These are two very important questions. If we leave it to ourselves, and believe we have wisdom and understanding, then we are heading for real trouble. Our thoughts are always tainted. Our understanding of things is often skewed. Ony the Lord has perfect wisdom and understanding. Only God's Word is where we will find His wisdom. That is where we should be seeking wisdom and understanding. Have you read the Bible today? Have you sought the Lord's wisdom regarding situations, and not your own wisdom? Today is a good day to reflect on God's wisdom and His understanding of our situations. Turn to Him today. Seek Him. Trust in Him. May God richly bless you.

Hello everyone,

Due to unforseen circumstances, I will be taking a leave of absence from writing this blog. I pray that it has been a blessing to many, and that the Lord will continue to use the thoughts written here already to bring others closer to Him.

Lord willing, this blog will return in the very near future.

I am grateful for the friendships I have made here, and those who have blessed my life. Please feel free to keep in touch with me, and I will remember all of you in my prayers.

In Christ's service,

Rev Thomas

Hello everyone,

I am still not able to resume this blog yet, but wanted to give an update to all. The Lord has opened another couple of ministry doors for me, and I have been quite busy serving Him in those capacities. I am humbled that God has called me to serve Him in these areas, and as a byproduct, this blog has been on hiatus. I do pray for it to resume soon, Lord willing.

I pray that this blog will continue to minister to others, and bring glory only to the Lord Jesus Christ.

In Christ's service,

Rev Thomas
