We read in 1 Corinthians 10:31 - "Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
This is a very familiar verse to many, but have you ever reflected on the ramifications of the words?
Everything we do is to be for the glory of God. Everything! It is more than just eating and drinking.
Think about all that you do in an average day. Can either you or I say that all we do daily is for God's glory? We cannot, because none of us can keep the commands of God perfectly. Yet, this is God's command.
How can we follow it then? We can begin by thinking about what we do each day, who we assocaite with, how we treat others, and ourselves. Do we put God first in all things? Do we make time each day to rest in the Lord, pray to Him, seek wisdom from His Word?
We know that God is watching us. Others are watching us, too. Many are looking to see if we can "walk the walk" the way we "talk the talk. "
Are you living your life; each day for God's glory. If there are areas that could use correcting or adjustment, ask God to help strengthen you to make the changes needed.
He will help you.
May God richly bless you. |

We read in James 4:8 - "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
In this verse, we have a glorious promise from God. He promises to draw near to us if we draw near to Him! While we can rejoice and praise God for such a wonderful promise, and while we know that God is ever faithful and true, there is still another part of this verse to consider.
In order to draw near to God, we must do two things. 1) We must cleanse our hands (anything to do with outside the body). We shouldn't be involved in illegal things or anything that would shame the name of our Lord. 2) We must purify our hearts (anything to do with our thoughts and feelings that are less than God glorifying).
This verse covers everything, both inside and outside. Once we have dealt with these areas, we are more willing to draw near to God. When we do, He is there waiting for us with open arms.
The love of God simply overwhems me at times.
Is it the same for you today?

We read in Psalm 32: 1 - "Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered."
Are you blessed today because your sins have been forgiven? There is only one way to have our transgressions and sins forgiven, and that is through the blood of Christ. If you are a true, born again believer today, you know that all of your sins (past, present, and future) are all forgiven. What a comfort that should be; to know that if we sin, that sin is covered by Jesus.
We serve such a merciful Savior; One who gave His life voluntarily for those who would believe on Him.
If you are in Christ today, take a moment and thank Him for the price He paid for your sins.
Yes, God calls us blessed if our transgressions are forgiven, and our sins covered.
Are yours?

We read in Psalm 119:11 - "Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You."
Is God's Word in your heart today? Is it in your mind also? The Psalmist tells us that the Word of God is hidden in his heart, and it is there for a very specific reason. When we have the temptation to sin, God's Word can often prevent us from doing so, as we recall a verse or passage that speaks to the temptation. While all of us are prone to sin, even though we may be saved already, there is a remedy against falling into, and remaining in, sin. It is God's Word.
We have a mighty shield to repel the fiery darts of the enemy. We have suitable armor to withstand any battle. We have the Sword of the Spirit to guide and protect us.
So I ask again, is God's Word in your heart today?

We read in Matthew 6:21 - "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
This is the culminating statement to a passage where Jesus is speaking about treasures on earth verses treasures in heaven. There is a very distinct and important difference in the two.
Where is your heart today? Is your heart reflecting on and building treasures in heaven, where eternity lies, or is your heart building treasures on earth, which has a limited time to exist and will eventually be destroyed?
Jesus is not saying we cannot enjoy things on earth. It is a matter of how much we love things, and what price we put on them. It is far better to love the things of heaven than the things of the earth.
Today, why not take a moment to reflect on where your heart is. Are you rejoicing in the treasures on earth? Are you rejoicing in the treasures in heaven?
You have a choice today of what you will treasure and where your heart lies. Choose wisely.

We read in Proverbs 27: 2 - "Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; A stranger, and not your own lips."
As Christians, we are to be of a humble spirit. Don't we all know those who constantly boast about themselves, their accomplishments, their status? It seems so self serving to always praise oneself. Jesus was meek and humble; He should be our example.
Our verse today clearly tells us that if we are to be praised, that others should be the ones to do it. Words of praise and boasting should never pass from our own lips. It is proper and right that we remain humble servants of the Lord Jesus.
This is not easy to do in the world today, where emphasis is always put on achievements, wealth status, beauty concerns, and social achievements. With God's strength and guidance, we can be the humble servants He has called us to be.

We read in Galatians 6:7 - "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, the he will also reap."
There are consequences to every action we take. Some consequences are good, some are bad. No action is done without a reaction. God is very clear here in this verse. He is warning us not to be deceived or led into faslehood. God will not be mocked, made fun of, belittled, or taken advantage of. Whatever a man does
he will have to answer for.
How are you doing in your life with your actions? What are your motives for such actions? Is God being mocked by your behavior? Are you reaping what you're sowing?
Today is a good day to examine yourself for those areas you may be mocking God in.
Think about it.

We read in Proverbs 21:2 - "Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts."
How many times do we go and do our own thing, even if it is against God's commands and laws? It seems that many times, we justifiy our behavior, words, and actions in our own minds. We think about something, we find reasons why we are right, and then we proceed. Many times, the actions we took or the words we spoke were just plain wrong and sinful, yet in our minds, we find a defense for what we have done or said.
This is exactly what our verse tells us today. Every way we go is right in our own eyes, if we justify it enough. God says different. He weighs our hearts. What is our motives behind our actions? Why are we doing and saying the things we do?
Are you in that place today? Have you said or done something that seemed right in your own eyes? Remember, God is weighing your heart.
All of us need to reflect on this verse today.

We read in Psalm 146:1 - "Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul."
Today is such a good day to praise the Lord. What other name should be praised? To whom else do we owe our very lives, our souls?
God is the giver of life, both in a physical sense, but also in eternal life. If you are a born again, Bible believing Christian today, and if Jesus Christ is your personal Lord and Savior, then today, and every day, you should be praising His holy name.
I rejoice with all of you who know God's salvation through Christ. So today, I praise the Lord!
Will you praise Him with Me?
May God richly bless you. |

We read in Romans 8:1 - "There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
What a wonderful verse of promise for those who are truly born again. I almost cannot fathom the truth of this verse sometimes. We who have Christ as Savior are not condemned by God for any of our sins. They have all been forgiven through the blood of Jesus. What love God has for His people!
When we are born again, we do not walk in the flesh any longer, but in the Holy Spirit. Because God dwells within us, we can walk with Him daily, not fearing that we will be held accountable for our sins. Jesus paid it all, the hymn writer said.
I am in fear and reverence of our God; a God who does not condemn those who trust Christ as Savior.
I trust you know Jesus today as your Lord and Savior.
