I had the opportunity to go to one of his meetings. My friend took me because she knew of my illness and she also has some of her own. So we went to one they had in Florida.

I remember waiting in a really long line outside to get inside to the event. They had a tent outside too, with a television in it and chairs.

We got to go inside because we had tickets in advance. Once inside you couldnt take in food or drinks, which didnt so much bother me at first until I saw the concession stands. Which while I was outside, you knew there were a lot of poor people, and these stands were very expensive.

Also inside they were selling all manor of things. This also bothered me.

Then we had set down at last to our seats. You know it was weird, he spoke about what God was going to do. Also he yelled at this one lady during the service for speaking in tongues (I personally dont have a problem with that, but I am sure it didnt make her feel too good...perhaps he knew there wasnt an interpreter, or maybe he just doesnt believe in tongues, who knows).

Now see when I went to this service I really wanted my healing. I mean that is why I came to that meeting. But he did it weird. He doesnt do the laying on of hands. He expects you to believe in a healing for yourself, and that God will move through the audience and heal you. Then you must go up front and announce it to everyone, and he checks it out to see if it is true. If the person can really hear, or see, or walk...

Then part way through the service he gets himself all filled up with the spirit, and begins to prophecy on his own behalf to everyone about what God is going to do through him. Something about making amputated legs grow back and stuff like that. (Now I am sure you have seen this because he was proud of this service and had it played on television, I saw it later).

But he was like on the ground, holy roller style, saying he felt the annointing.

Now see I cant say any of this is true or not. It beats me, but I didnt like it.

Now ask me why...

Because I didnt recieve a healing. And so many came for a healing, it was unbelievable, and people were left out in the tent to view. He didnt even do like Jesus or the disciples and apostles, like laying on of the hands, or speaking a healing to pass on those who believe- so it would be the two agreeing. So I left disappointed and hurt that God was suppose to move around that room, and he didnt love me enough to heal me. Yet he did for the people in the front row.

Also I didnt like the buying and selling. This was not a time for that. It wasnt like this man was having a concert. And he can sell his books in book stores like everyone else. Why do it at a church gathering. It is suppose to be about God.

(Dont get me wrong, I do understand that they need to pay for the colosium they were in. But you know what, at church is not the time for it. It made it come across as- this house shall be a house of prayer and you have made it a den of thieves, type thing).

After that, I refused to watch Benny again, and that was the very first time I had ever heard of him. Now I watch TBN and know who he is.

Let me ask you this, why do you need Benny Henn for a healing, if all he does is let God do it alone anyways. He lets you have the faith, and God.

It was after this I realized who I really needed to go to for my healing. Stop putting your trust in mere humans (Jeremiah 17:5 This is what the Lord says: Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans and turn their hearts away from the Lord). I needed to go the God myself, in him alone would I find a true healing.

So I really cant lay it all on Benny Henn, now can I? Because my faith was wrong. I went expecting to be healed, but not by God, by Benny Henn. So I did just what the Lord tells us not to do, put our trust in man. (But see we as believers do it in an odd way. We want to believe for a healing, but for some reason we think someone else's faith will be stronger than our own. So surely we will be healed through this person...sadly that apparently isnt how it works).

Now here is what I believe, when healings happen, it will be like unto Jesus and his Apostles, or even healings from the Old Testiment, it will be immediate, and no doubt from God. We can read in the gospels how Jesus did it, or we can even see in Acts some amazing ways the Lord worked through his followers.

For me, I think someone who really loves you will place their hands on you, like they care, with compassion. Something doctors (even) have forgotten was their practice. It shows that you care.

Or like Jesus, speak it forth.

Or even in amazing ways such as Peter whose very shadow healed.

And if we need old testiment references, we have Elisha references, who raised a boy from the dead. And also professed a true God in Israel, and caused a man with leperosy to be healed in the name of God in the Jordan River.

see now for me, I must look to the truth, and study it from scriptures. see this true faith for myself, and how it is revealed in each person who believes.

The only way to know a believer is by his fruit.

God Bless
I have been wanting to see someone who went to see Benny HINN. I always wondered if he really had the nerve to collect money during a "healing" service and if he really kept the really sick in the back of the building... so sad to hear it is true.

A real healing of God would exclude no one and would not involve money in the name of God. This makes my stomach SICK!!!

Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” (Matt. 7:15-20)

I never knew you:

“Not everyone who say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’, shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your Name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.” (Matt. 7:21-23)

When discerning a false prophet is “by their fruits”, and “FRUITS” are more than DEEDS; it includes their DOCTRINE (see Matt. 16:12 & 1 John 4:1-3). We test all teachers and preachers against the truths of God’s Word (see Jude 3 & Rev. 22:18-19).

“Now John answered and said, ‘Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your Name, and we forbade him because he does not follow with us.’ But Jesus said to him, “Do not forbid him, for he who is not against us is on our side.” (Luke 9:49-50)

Therefore, we ALL need to be aware, beware, and don’t be unaware.
Elijah2, I have seen you use this scripture (Matt 7 21-23) many times, and I cringe each time. This is a scripture we all need to worry about, to make sure we are on the right path. It is a check point for ourselves. I hear it thrown about all the time to try and discredit other people, with the ban wagon posters saying "uh huh! Thats right!" But honestly this is something that we should all consider for ourselves. You think you are ok? Then who are you to say if Benny Hinn or whomever else thinks they are ok. You think they are decieved? How do you know you are not?

Everything you have brought up about Benny Hinn has dealt with personal sin, or flesh. I think he is a strange duck. From my experience in reading the bible all prophets were strange ducks. Nothing has been spoken to say Benny Hinn is not saved or does not have a healing ministry. He needs Jesus, he needs to repent, he is not perfect because Benny Hinn is not our Savior, but someone used by our Savior. We are all in the same shoes.

People are so quick to judge. I have never heard of a healing ministry EVER that the person or movement was not harshly judged and criticised. We have our comfortable box on how we think people should come. We have our bible,"Well it says Right Here...." This is arrogant to believe we have such a perfect understanding of Gods word that we could reign judgement down on anyone other than ourselves.

A False Prophet is someone who tells you to worship someone else other than God. God is bigger than all the "spooky" spirits people say that this person or that person is operating in. If the person is pointing to Jesus Christ as God our Savior, then he is not a false prophet;1st safe guard. He can be messed up, but if the fruit is there that is our second safe guard. And our 1st,2nd,3rd Everything Safeguard is that we serve a God who is looking out for us and protecting us. We go these meetings seeking God, and God has allowed these ministries to go on and on even as many people pray "Lord is this really you?"

People make this much more complicated and difficult than they should. They look for demons and people to spirit them away from God under every rock and crevase. The enemy wants to make us LUKE WARM and NUMB to God. We give him much to much credit. He is only a created being, and God is the Creator. We don't like these meetings because they are Offensive, and God would Never offend us. I beg to differ. Jesus was extremely offensive, and so were the prophets. But for those who would seek him past offensiveness there was fruit, joy, and a deeper walk with the Lord.

Above all else I tell you now that there are some words about Benny Hinn, and that Lakeland guy spoken that are horrible. I tell you the truth, the Lord himself did not call his tormentors and murderers names. God says if you call a man a fool you are in danger of hell! Matt 5:22 Please be careful. I am no better than anyone here. I have had my own issues I have needed to repent of, many many times, including judging people in my own life. One day all of us who love Jesus will be together probably high fiving Benny Hinn in Heaven.

Rutva7 is on a distinguished road
Benny Hinn was on the ORU board and resigned when the mess hit regarding mismanagement of funds and Richard Roberts resigning as President. This was in the fall of 2007.

I believe we (Christians) are very quick to turn against one of our own if they in any way become successful and start making money. Somehow we've come up with this silly idea that we're supposed to be poor and meek and anyone who isn't couldn't possibly be anything but a fraud. That goes for many of these so-called superstar preachers not just Hinn.

As to his anointing, I've never been there so I can't comment other than to say the vast majority of people who have been to his services say he is anointed by God and they were healed by God. I think that testimony alone speaks much more loudly than anything any of us would say for or against him.

I do not know the state of Benny Hinn's faith or anointing, but I do know that he has made several radical prophesies that have failed to come true. And I do not doubt that many people have been healed during his crusades, but those healings probably had more to do with the peoples own faith and the Lord and not some kind of power that Benny Hinn possesses. I do not attend his meetings because his integrity is questionable and we are to test every spirit. Even satan can appear as an angel of light. However, I do not argue that there are great moves of God in his meetings because of the faith of the masses and the Lord can take what was meant for evil and turn it around for good. Just my two cents, though. I am not trying to bash him or say that I know the state of his heart or that he is a false prophet etc.

People, please realize... JESUS NEVER COLLECTED MONEY TO HEAL. If Benny really wants to see the sick healed, he needs to just walk the streets. Why a huge building where the light bill alone (for that magical affect) cost more than my monthly mortgage payment. Jesus healed as he walked around. The body of Christ was never meant to be a money-maker. Are we jealous that he drives a jet, lives in a mansion, stays at hotels costing more for one night than some people make all year??? Come on, this should grieve the body of Christ! Did Jesus ever put the ones in the stretchers in the back room to hide them from the TV cameras? I doubt it. He wasn't ashamed of them! He wasn't afraid they wouldn't get healed and it could be caught on camera. Obviously there wern't TV cameras back then, but you get the idea.

Testimony..

my testimony

“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams” (Acts 2:17).

Today is September 4, 1991. The most incredible thing happened to me last night. My prayers were answered. Not only my prayers, but the prayers of my friends who I asked to pray for me were answered.
Over the past week, everything in my life slowly began drifting away. My problems were intensifying. My emotions were on a roller coaster. My finances, or lack there of, began catching up with me. I started dreading the meetings at work. My life was crumbling. I spent Labor Day weekend alone. I wouldn’t even let Jesus into my lonely life. Oh, He was asking, but I wasn’t responding. I started asking all of my friends to pray for me as I struggled through these times.
Monday night, I was watching Benny Hinn’s Sunday service that TBN broadcasts every week. He was teaching on prayerlessness. It was a great service, but the one thing that caught my eye was the little brief memo that flashed across the screen to let people know that Benny was going to be in the Dallas area. TBN’s Praise the Lord was going to host Benny for an interview and prayer service.
After work Tuesday, the day of the show, I went straight over to my hairdresser to get a quick haircut. The show was at 9:00pm, but the doors opened at 8:00pm, which means get there about 6:30pm. Darlenne was a close friend, as well as, my hairdresser. Over the past month, she had been going through some tough problems with her life. Trying to comfort her, I bought Good Morning Holy Spirit, and loaned it to her to read. She loved it and was really moved when she read it. I told her I needed a quick haircut, because I wanted to go and see Benny Hinn. She wanted to hurry so that she could join me. After a quick haircut, we arrived at the TBN studio at about 7:30.
There was already a long line when we arrived. Earlier, I had called the studio to find out how many seats were available. After hearing there was only a hundred, I figured we would never make it inside. An hour passed, and the line was getting shorter. At about 9:00, we were standing at the front door, ready to go in. I was getting excited. Then my heart dropped.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, the show is full. We will have to shut the doors.” He went on to say that if anyone were to leave during the show, they would let the next few people in. Okay, so there was a little hope left.
As the time passed, I realized that it was about 11:30pm, and it didn’t look like we were going to get in. My legs were killing me, and I was tired and hungry. I kept asking Darlenne if she was ready to go, because if she said yes, I was gone. But she insisted we stay. Two or three times, I asked her, but she held her ground. I never said, “Hey, let’s go.” It was always, “Are you getting tired?” or “Feel like going yet?” But she never gave in, and I thank her for it, because at 11:40pm, they opened the front doors, and we were right there, first in line.
As we entered the studio, Benny was already praying for people. He was off the main stage, walking among the people, praying for them. I remember my first thoughts, “This area is small, I’ll be able to see him up close.” But, I noticed that I didn’t feel anything. No anointing, no Spirit, nothing. I was just excited to see Benny Hinn up close.
As we moved closer to the stage, people began falling under the power of the Spirit, but I felt nothing. Then as he walked right passed us, I realized that I was standing there focusing on Benny, the man, when I should have been focusing on Jesus, our Lord. Instantly, when I came to this realization, I began to sense a warmth of peace. I had total control, but the feeling was wonderful, I didn’t want it to stop.
Benny went back up to the stage and called out for all of the people who were standing outside to come up to the front. With my hands lifted and eyes closed, I began picturing Jesus. As Benny blew into the microphone, the warmth of the Holy Spirit engulfed me. Everyone around me, about twenty in all, fell under the power of the Spirit. My body was like jello. My hands were shaking and tingling, and I felt this powerful feeling of glory all over my body. At this point, everyone began standing back up, but I couldn’t stand up. My body was so relaxed, like an incredible burden had been lifted.
As I tried to stand up, Benny pointed at me and said, “It’s all over you brother. Get up here on the stage.”
With the help of a few people, I made it up on the stage with Darlenne.
Benny asked us, “Do you two want the anointing? Do you?”
With hands lifted and hearts opened, we said, “Yes!”
“Well then take it!”
As he waved his hand, Darlenne fell down and pulled me down with her. But, I laid there in total freedom. My hands were numb, and I felt this powerful feeling of peace that just filled my entire spirit. But the most powerful feeling was my hands. This incredible sensation covered them completely, inside and out. It was a different feeling that what my body was feeling. It was as if the Holy Spirit was holding my hands. I felt as if they weren’t even mine. It was a numbing sensation, tingling and electrifying. It felt like my hands had fallen asleep, but without that painful tingling. It was more of an intense tingling. It was nothing I had ever felt before.
As we laid there on the stage, Benny kept talking about us to the people watching. He was telling everybody that we were never going to be the same again. He pointed at me and said, “God is going to use that man. I can see a calling all on his life.”
As they stood me back up, he asked me what I was feeling. Before I could answer, he knew that my hands were tingling.
“You feel it all over your hands, don’t you?”
Since I couldn’t speak, I just nodded yes.
Then he asked me, “You’ve had people praying for you, haven’t you?”
Stumbling on my words, I replied, “Yes. I’ve been asking my friends to pray for me.”
And he said, “Well, they’re being answered right now.”
He waved his hand again, and down I went.
At this point, my hands were completely numb. I could feel them, but the sensation had increased immensely. As I lay there, my mind was racing a hundred miles an hour, but nothing was entering my mind. No problems, no burdens, no worries, no pain. Everything was going through my mind, but I wasn’t thinking about anything. It wasn’t confusing, because I had total control. This powerful feeling of ecstasy kept making me laugh. I have never felt such freedom and pleasure filled with total joy and happiness. For once in my life, I felt free. I felt joy.
My Baptism

October 6, 1991 was a wonderful Sunday in my life. I was baptized. It symbolized a new beginning in my life. All of my burdens were washed away with His blood. Up until my baptism, I had always questioned my salvation. Was I really going to heaven? Was I really saved? I was baptized in a non-denominational, Spirit-filled church. I was so at peace after my baptism, that I had a difficult time singing during praise and worship. I just stood in the back row and worshipped Jesus. I have never felt that much peace and spiritual rest in my entire life. I couldn’t do anything. I almost left after the baptism, because I didn’t want anything to take that feeling away. I wouldn’t talk to anyone, or look at anyone. Over the next couple of days, Jesus became so real to me, that I could almost see Him. I’ve always heard that expression “picture Jesus” or “keep you eyes on Jesus”, but now I know He there, sitting in Heaven with us in His heart as we are in His.
I had the most incredible vision a few days prior to my baptism. It was powerful, and it really touched me. One morning after prayer, the Holy Spirit led me to Psalms 46:10 which says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” So instead of prayer and worship, I decided to turn off all the lights and music, and be still. I cleared my mind of all thoughts.
As I lay there, I kept seeing this cup. It looked like a chalice or goblet. It wasn’t made of any precious metals. I couldn’t really tell what it was made of, but the dents in the side and top showed that it had a rough past. The sides were tainted with dirt and debris. The inside wreaked of alcohol. A lid covered the top of the cup, and it seemed as if it were fastened to the top.
The cup represented my flesh and body. As I laid the cup down at God’s feet, I removed the lid. I opened my heart to Him, and that lid was no longer keeping Him out. I remember saying to Him, “This is now Your vessel. Use it for Your glory.”
He reached down and picked up the cup. As He held it in His hands, the cup began melting, until it no longer looked like a cup. He began working this mass with His hands, cleansing and purifying it. As He worked it like a pottery maker works clay, the dirt and debris began falling below His feet. Finally, He took the mass and dipped into some water to wash away any last dirt that was keeping it from being pure.
After He finished the purifying, He held this mound of melted substance in both of His hands for a moment, as if He were thinking what to make of it. Then He began molding this mass into a new vessel. He shaped the bottom of the cup with a strong, firm foundation. As the cup began taking shape, its material slowly changed in to gold as He sculpted His vessel. It was beautiful and pure, and nothing tainted it. I noticed that there was no longer a lid or even a provision for one. It was open to anyone.
As He finished, He reached out over the left side of His throne and picked up what look like a misty pitcher full of a swirling mist. It reminded me of the pure, white fog that’s produced by dry ice. He began to pour His Spirit into the vessel until the sides were overflowing onto His hands and all around His throne. As the people reached up to quench their thirst, He lifted His vessel up with both hands, then poured out His Spirit upon all flesh.
Conclusion

That’s my story. Some may challenge its authenticity, but it was real to me. The Bible says, “You shall know them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:20).
My life is different. There is fruit more than a decade later. Lots of people have theories and ideas about theology, but a man with a theory is at the mercy of man with an experience.

Did you take a vow of poverty when you became a Christian? Did you make an agreement not to fly or live in a mansion or stay in fancy hotels? I only ask because you seem to think Hinn should have done so.

I have no doubt there a plenty of people who don't get the healing they are hoping for when they go to see Hinn. I suspect the vast majority of people aren't touched by God at his services in a manifestation of physical healing, but is that Hinn's fault? Not at all. It is done unto the believer according to their faith, not according to Hinn's. So with that in mind what's the problem with not parading those who didn't get healed around in front of cameras? Why would he want to embarass them for their lack of faith?

I'm not a fan of Hinn, but I'm less a fan of people trying to tell us how God should work through a man. Let God be God and stay out of his way is the best policy I've heard lately.
