I love the original black & white Twilight Zone with the late Rod Serling! I can watchg episodes of it that have been uploaded to YouTube. One of the best stories they ever did was "In The Eye of the Beholder."

The perfect use of the TV medium. It has to be a visual medium. It would fail misrerably in print. It has to be short. Full film length is sure to fail as the viewers would suspect and the final punch would be dulled. Even an hour TV show would be too long.
The compliment of some books which leave out details and let the reader go down a false path only to be surprised.
The original series was great. I rarely watch the new one as it rarely fails to disappoint.

The episode, "Obsolete Man" is one of my favorites.
I love the shock endings, and the messages that are intertwined into the episodes. Although, the one season of hour long episodes were a bit too long. They just didn't pack the same punch being dragged out an extra thirty minutes.

And the perfect one for the medium.
It has to be visual. It has to be reasonably short. Perrfect for TV.
I loved the original series. Not the later rehash ones that are weak.
The original Twilight Zone is the best, but I enjoy science fiction anthology TV series a lot more than regular TV shows. I wish there was more of them. I like not knowing what to expect from one episode to another.
