Creation & EvolutionForum for the discussion of this important topic. This forum is open to non-believers. There is a Christians-only forum in the Christians-only section too.
Then why is it that my friend says he never studied evolution when he is a Associate Professor of Physiology and has a Phd in Physiology. In fact he is president of the Physiology association. He does not accept evolutionary theory. He is busy with his work and he does not have time to get involved with evolutionary theory one way or the other. My Biology teacher was a graduate of Harvard, and he never mentioned evolutionary theory.
I think that perhaps evolutions like to exaggerate just how important their theory really is.
Gee, I guess all those universities I've been talking about must have some sort of evil conspiracy that prevents holes about the theory from coming out. Your "PhD Professor" doesn't get involved because he knows that Creationism is a religious belief would be laughed at if he tried to used the Laws of Thermodynamics to disprove evolution. I guarentee the reason why he doesn't accept evolution is because of religious beliefs, not scientific beliefs. Of course, you're welcome to prove me wrong by showing any writings of him that states why he doesn't accept evolution. However, I think it'll end up like all the other claims you've made...
So would it be accurate to say that you never received any formal education relating to the theory of evolution?
My "formal education" has been in creationism. I am a creationist, not a evolutionist. You could talk to Dr Wise, he has has a formal education in evolution.
He does not get involved with evolution because evolution is a waste of time.
Says the man that ignores hundreds of thousands research hours in evolution that helps bring things such as cheaper drugs... You sure seems to know a lot about this man, why not drop a name so we can confirm he exists and that he does believe evolution is a waste of time.

I told you, because he does not want to waste his time on a email that has nothing to do with the work he is doing.
The point is that there are LOTS of people like him. The universities are filled with creationists that keep quiet about it rather then to squabble over it. They do not see any reason to waste time on this sort of thing and the Bible would tend to confirm that.
Titus 3:9
But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless.

Alternative medicine has its own heirarchy and often takes rank names from more established disciplines, I suspect this is what we are dealing with.
There are people who claim a doctorate in homeopathic medicine!

I thought it was pretty funny that the person that keeps bring up genealogies as evidence would be quoting this. It's also funny that evolution is far from unprofitable considering the millions of dollars of research that is derived from it. I find it even funnier that the person arguing that you shouldn't be arguing about the correctness of evolution is the one arguing about the correctness of evolution. Of course, you can talk about this highly qualified Ph.D. friend of yours all you want, since you only have annedoctal evidence and we have scientific evidence.
I am really glad you asked that. ID people feel that the theory of evolution is losing ground and support and momentium.
Theories don't run on momentum, but on evidence.
Evolution has it; ID does not.
If/When that changes, let us know.
So the question would be: does evolutionary theory have less acceptance than what it did even 10 years ago IN OUR UNIVERSITIES? Or amoung the general population.
Probably not -- IDers and the rest of the Creationists, having realized that their "theory" carries no weight in the laboratory, have moved the fight to the courtrooms and to public opinion.
But science is not a popularity contest.
I would think that evolutionists if they can provide the "mechanism" or not, would try to claim that evolution theory and the natural sciences are gaining ground and becoming more popular and accepted.
You would think incorrectly. While evolutionists are doing science, IDers and the rest of the Creationists have been doing marketing.
Evolution is still the best product in town, but ID/Creationism has better advertising.

To them, you're just a freak, like me! They need you right now, but when they don't, they'll cast you out, like a leper! You see, their morals, their code, it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other.
See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve.
