Faith is denial of the truth when you don't like the truth. Beast
One thing that has not been explained to well to the original poster is the concept of a "theory of gravity". That is Gravity's explaination. The real truth is at this time, we do not understand the reasoning behind gravity, and it will probably a very long time before we do. Currently the theories of Quantum Mechanics and Gravity disagree with each other, and investigation in to alternative theories, such as String Theory, which involves highly sophistocated mathemtatics to understand (I don't understand it much myslef, but I know the basic premise).
My formal studies are mainly in Applied Science with a focus on Mechanics. While our current Theory of Gravity is in fact "wrong", on the macroscopic level it is accurate enough for practical applications. That is we can use it to build buildings, design satellites, and make cars function. It is a good enough theory, and the "laws" (empirical creations) assist us in applying it. For engineers like myself, we don't need to know exactly how it works (which no human knows today), but how to use it.
Yep, that's it. Only two parts though, as far as I know.
Watched it last night. There are only 2 parts, your right. I had a couple of episodes of walking with monsters on there as well, and a lost episode of the other show we were discussing, the one dealing with possible evolutionary futures. The latter i had been trying to find, it was the one with the Death gleaners and Spinks.
Oh and watching the tape I found that it was channel 4 that had screened it on UK terrestrial TV. Which is good, now I know which website to look for the episode I missed on (the blue moon).

Science does not deal in metaphysics. The existence or non-existence of God is a metaphysical question, and as such science neither attempts to prove or disprove God.
In response to one of your earlier questions that no one answered, something along the lines of "Why is Pluto's orbit so wierd?", it's a very good question.
The common misconception is that orbits are circular. This is infact incorrect! Orbits are eliptical (oval). If you have studied in school a field of geometry called "Conics" you may have learned about elipses and specific points on them called a "focus". For orbits, the object that the other object is orbiting is at one of these focii. (Sun is at the focus of the Earth's orbit). Each orbit has a slightly different shape, and Pluto's just happend to be more elongated than the others. This is an empirical observation that created another "law" called Kepler's laws. (You might have heard of them if you every took an astronomy class)
...thats not what i heard. ive been told always from start that the tides are because the earth is constantly moving and the oceansare literally sloshing around. like if you have a bowl of water and then move it around some parts will get higher or lower
Totally wrong. I doubt anyone ever told you that. Why don't you link us a source for that one, or are you just trolling?
Just read that site for the first time. Some of the comments across the net from fundies are getting too scary. Fundamentalism just isnt funny anymore...

Oh, cut the bleeding heart crap, will ya? We've all got our switches, lights, and knobs to deal with, Striker. I mean, down here there are literally hundreds and thousands of blinking, beeping, and flashing lights, blinking and beeping and flashing - they're *flashing* and they're *beeping*. I can't stand it anymore! They're *blinking* and *beeping* and *flashing*! Why doesn't somebody pull the plug!
im not the one who preaches about "continental drift"
Well, what do you "preach"?
because if they do move then the oceans would be moving too
And so they do. The crust of our planet is basically huge rafts of rock floating on a sea of magma -- where there is a crack, and the magma surfaces, you get a volcano.
When the plates bump into each other, you get an earthquake. These events happen at the ocean floor as well as on dry land, but they're not as well recorded because -- well, they're on the ocean floor. Figure it out.
But we do know that undersea volcanic/earthquake activity usually doesn't effect us on land most of the time, but if it's strong and happens close to shore, that's a different story. Tsunami, anyone?
Now, do a google search on "Undersea volcanoes" or "undersea earthquakes" and you'll see how much moving is going on down there.
Now seriously, Angry -- Would you consider starting a new thread where, rather than blindly yelling that everything is false, you actually explain a little bit of the geology and astronomy that you think is true. IOW, instead or railing against something, how about explaining what you think is true.

To them, you're just a freak, like me! They need you right now, but when they don't, they'll cast you out, like a leper! You see, their morals, their code, it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other.
See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve.

heres what i think is true. there is no gravity because it doesnt make sense and ive pointed out the reasons why.
people like you and me fall to earth under the weight of our sins and thats what keeps us on the planet. when you die, if you have accepted Christ, your sins will disappaear and you will rise up into heaven. if you however lived a life of sin, when you die the burden of your sins will pull you further down into hell
people like you and me fall to earth under the weight of our sins
Im going to tie a box of condoms and sex toys to a ballon filled with helium right now so I can prove they are not sinful!
