No they are not angry, and they are not out to beat anyone down and its not asking anyone to fight. The reason why the look that way is because it is so intense...when the spirit is movin, things get pretty heated.
The point of krumping is to bring glory to God, the reason people come to sessions is to not only get buck, but get buck for the Lord. The 'battles' you see mentioned are not to go out and cause these big beefs that you see rappers in the mainstream have...you call someone out to battle, to bring out the best in you. Yes it can be for competition at times, but generally, that is not the purpose for it.
There is no way to get Krump without bringing Christ in it...its how you get your power...your energy...your motivation...just like everyday life.
I mean maybe in surburban/rural areas it may seem like its just a bunch a people not knownin how to act...but its a true dance style that is comin up in the world, but like I live in the urban city of DC, and this is one of the tightest dance styles out here...tho a lot of people don't want to get into it because it is Christian based...and they dont want to be around a bunch of Christians i am a 15 year old girl living in one of the urban parts of dc and i know for a fact that krumpin is not that hot in dc....dont get me wrong i like it and i like to do it but you wont hear a teenager saying "lets go to the krump battle at whatever place"....its just not gonna happen. most teenagers in dc are into gogo music and goin to gogo's. krumpin is not that hot in dc especially the urban part. and i need to know what church you go to and if it is in dc because i have never in my life seen people krump at church. lol i have been to a lot of churches in the urban areas of dc and havent seen it most of the dancing i see in church is shoutin and liturgical/praise dancin. if you go to church in dc let me know what church so i can go and see it for myself because i have never seen that.....but anyways krumpin is not all that hot in dc and if it is, you wont see most of the people krumpin in church because they probably dont know that it originated in church.

May be I'm a little stereotyped, and maybe I don't know much about Krumping, (actually, I'm hearing about it today, for the first time). Like every other cynic in this thread, I also feel that there the only emotion shown is anger. Could you refer me to some links that show how Krump all started? wikipedia says it's tighteyez, but I couldn't find anything else. Oh, and would Krumping be good to use in a church? if so, how? as a dance battle? or as a group dance (like every other dance)

Krump is amazing, here we dance alot and we have seen in our evangelism that God do a lot of things through Krump. guys keep doing it with all your heart! no matter what legalism or conservative mind can say about this, i think Krump is the same that liturgical dance... becouse we worship God with all of our body, and we do spiritual warfare without any fear! amen bro amen! |

I found God through krumping and despite the fact that I've backslid, I've always had God and krump in my life.
Krump is both a release dance form for those that perform it, and for spiritual warfare against the powers that would work against the Kingdom of God.
There is an updated site for the main 'ruling' group of krumpers headed by 'Tight Eyez' and 'Mijo' who are the co-creators of the dance style. I can't post it yet but if anyone would like the site, please PM me  |

I stand strong with the Faith with Christ through dancing because i worship Him through the movement and spirituality of my body and soul. Krumping to me is a form of art and praise to glorify God. It's not meant to do battles because matter of fact, Battle is filled with egos and pride which pride leads to destruction before the Lord! Yet, i understand why TightEyez and all them professional Krumpers battle because as what onfire4him77 said "they battle, but they come together not to see who is better, but as one body, to praise God". I'm not afraid to krump or praise God, I do it because I Love God straight up ChristUp!^ nawmeen? Krump and dance is my weapons given from God for Thee Spiritual Warfare. I know the devil has been smackin' his mouth about me, telling me lies that krumping and dancing won't lead me to anywhere, but hey! My life is with God! The devil can't take me down because i'm Heaven Bound! yanno? Dancing is between you and your heart and how you feel in the atmosphere, to worship our Lord. Don't allow others to judge you just cause you dance weird or for some selfish reason, just do it for God and do it your way. One day, i wanna grow a dance ministry for my church and outreach about our Father in Heaven. But hey, thanxs for posting this. 14. And David danced before the Lord with all of his might, wearing a priestly tunic.
15. So David and all Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with much SHOUTING and blowing of trumpets.
David was dancing so hard that he came out of his clothes and Michal, the daughter of Saul showed contempt for him because she thought he made a fool of himself dancing indecent.
But as we continue on reading David retorted to Michal(in Verse 21-23),
21. David retorted to Michal, "I was dancing before the Lord, who chose me above your father and his family! He appointed me as the leader of Israel, the people of the Lord. So I am willing to act like a fool in order to show my JOY to the Lord. 22.Yes, and I am willing to look even MORE foolish than this, but I will be held in honor by the girls of whom you have spoken!" 23. So Michal, the daughter of Saul, remained childless throughout her life.
This is pretty much when krump first started. The first krump session was at the Ark of God! How awesome is that?! Krump is a form of radical worship and praise to show your joy to the Lord. And you can see in the verses that some people will not understand it, but do not have contempt for it, for Krump is acceptable to the Lord.
And that is why I love krump and what it stands for, K.ingdom R.adical U.plifted M.ighty P.raise.
