Why were deadly viruses and bacteria included in the grand design? Doesn't seem too intelligent to me, more like sadistic.
I can't see how these organisms are of much benefit to mankind.
If it was a result of the so called fall, why would a loving god inflict this upon those who had been created "in his image"?
viruses were created because people are sinful and they are a way to remove sin from society. God is not to blame for their existance, the only people to blame are those who live lives of sin and allow themselves to become infected

Ironically, the above post is possibly the strongest evidence I've seen against natural selection. How can someone so fantastically uninformed have survived to adulthood?
Your dealing with two different things here. First of all a virus is RNA and even though we do not understand what went wrong we do know that RNA and DNA are essential to life and reproduction. Bacteria also is essential as anyone with a garden can tell you. Bacteria breaks down the old plants to be used as fertilizer for the new crop so we can produce food to eat. It is just that we live in a world with so much death that sometimes the bacteria gets confused and starts to break down a organism to soon.
We have a situation here where we live in a "fallen" world and things do not function the way God created or intended for them to work. He is in the process of restoring this world back to His intention and purpose. But He is doing that over a period of time. A 7,000 year period of time. That may seem like a lot of time to us, but if the world is really billions of years old, then a few thousand years should not matter all that much.
Bacteria are helpful to us, without them we would die and without us they would die (bacteria are your main digestors). Viruses on the other hand, only exist to propogate their species, they do not benefit us, or any other form of life at all. They are a pest that cannot be irradicated.

So what happens when someone you loves gets a virus and dies from it?

I agree and in the case of the bird flu virus they obviously dissobeyed God's command: Thou shall not live next to chickens.

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

They say that everyone dies sooner or later. So you ask why did they die the way they did, when they did at that point in their life. At least that is what I always ask.
I think the Bible is only talking about Babylonian chickens.
Rev. 18:2
And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!

God didn't create the viruses. Man did. God allowed it because it has increased many people's strength and faith through troubled times. Satan is out to destroy though... He wants people to get sick... Sometimes I think depression is a deadly virus. It gets so bad you want to kill yourself because you don't feel like you are worth anything...
