NOVA producing 2-hour Dover special

The PBS science show NOVA is producing a 2-hour show about the Kitzmiller trial. From the York Dispatch:

In an attempt to better define science, evolution and intelligent design, filmmakers are preparing a documentary that reviews lessons delivered last year in U.S. Middle District Court in Harrisburg.

Crews from "NOVA," a popular PBS science television series, will be in Dover, York and Harrisburg this summer conducting interviews and obtaining footage for a two-hour show centered on Kitzmiller et al. v. Dover Area School District.

Barbara Moran, senior researcher for Boston-based "NOVA," said crews paid attention to the trial and interest grew with each testimony. Scientists and theologians alike dissected and defined science, evolution and origin theories.

While District Court Judge John E. Jones III grappled with First Amendment issues and whether religious intent was behind the former board's decision, filmmakers saw the potential to clarify scientific theory and help the public determine whether science and religion complement the other.

"People said (the trial) was like the biology class you wish you would have taken," said Barbara Moran, senior researcher for "NOVA." "(Documentary) seems like a good way to get at the tough scientific issues."

..."The idea is to allow viewers to walk away and make up their own minds," Moran said. "There seems to be a false dichotomy between evolution and religion, and we're hoping this show can make it clear."

Well, lets be honest here, its PBS. If we lived in a society that valued inteligence, people would watch more shows like NOVA. However, we do not, and PBS is pretty much bottom of the barrel when it comes to viewership. Most of the people who see this will be people that already know about the trial, and for the most part, that already understand and accept the ToE.

Hopefully though it will get shown in some classroms. It may be too late for the population at large, but theres always time in the upcoming generations.

Well, we could incite creationist groups to protest, boycott, and call for it to be banned. That would get it some attention.

The only thing that would incite creationists groups to protest , boycott, and call for the broadcast to be banned would be if the intent of the broadcast was to present doubt that the trial ever happened------like Uniformitarians do with regards to the FLOOD.

So Creationist groups are ok that ID was shown in a trial to not be science and creationism was shown to not be valid for public schools?

Actually the evidence shows the global flood never happened - not people.

They testified at the trial so they could get their ideas out there. Maybe they thought it was a good opportunity to plug their books and increase sales. Did you ever think that maybe this is putting money in someone's pocket? Of course I buy my books used off of Amazon, so they do not actually make anything when I buy one of their books. But there are people that do buy those books new. Or perhaps a science teacher will put them on a suggested reading list for students that want to study up on ID or creationism. Perhaps a library somewhere will buy one of their books.

I think it is wonderful to see bias opinion in action. And any judge who would prevent something from being expressed based on the opinion that such will cause students to identify with a particular religious belief (as though that really matters) is bias and has demonstrated a contempt for knowledge and the pursuit of truth. He places governmental restrictions above freedom of thought, expression, and religion. The program may provide more proof that the privatization of schools is the only practical solution.....
AND actually, the evidence proves that nearly all fossils are the direct result of catastrophy. That is exactly what the FLOOD was , and you have no clue as to how many stages that particular catastrophy entailed.

And only a zealot could continue to fail to understand why something that has been demonstrated to NOT BE SCIENCE should ever be taught in a science class.

How can you not grasp this simple concept. We do not teach about lephrecauns in Biology because they are not related to biology, and nor do we teach religion in biology, because, surprise, it is not related to biology. A descion made by A CHRISTIAN JUDGE!

Nip, this is an out and out lie. You know it, I know it. The Global flood was disproven 200 years ago, BY CHRISTIANS! Yet you continue to say this, and continue to fail utterly to produce any actual evidence to the contrary. Put up or shut up. Present evidence, or stop speaking this inanity.

Seriously, go out and read something new other than the same tired old drivel you have been spouting since I came to this board. Its ridiculous how much time and effort people have wasted talking to someone who seems to be compeltely unable to comprehend anything not told to him in his Bible.
