i want to become more active in my church...

i was telling my friend yesterday about how i have been thinkin about this for a while but i ain't done nothin with it until now, after summer i will start becoming more active in my church and help out with things, alot of women especially do that, and this has two reasons, although i am unsure whether one of them is morally right. first thing is i want to contribute more, i usually just go to mass and sit there and pray and listen, then go home, i don't even talk to nobody there usually. second thing is i want to meet a guy, and by that i mean a good guy who is also a christian and share my values. is this wrong and selfish? i think of it in the way that i serve god and he might give me something back. thoughts on this? it's not like i'm using the church to find guys, i've been there for years so it's only a matter of increasing both my contributions and my own possibilities and i don't see nothing wrong with that. thoughts?

I do not think that it is wrong to want to meet someone that shares your values. I also do not think it is wrong to meet that person at church. Just do not let the desire to meet someone be your primary reason for going to church and you will be fine.

I hope your future husband isn't there now thinking "I hope I will meet someone before this summer is over when I sell my 10 million in stock and retire to Fiji".
