Live Godly-Be Persecuted

2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Since it is abundantly clear what it means to live godly in Christ Jesus there is no point in spending much time there.

But when you do it; when you actively serve Jesus; when you follow His command and openly serve Him and preach the TRUTH of His Word, you SHALL suffer persecution.

The surprising thing is the source of the persecution. Sure it will come from the enemies of Christ, but only part of it. You will likely get more from those who Name the Name of Christ and it will hurt, a LOT. But NOTHING cmpared to the Hurt Jesus felt and indeed feels each day.

Just don't let it deter you from following Jesus and never ever take your eyes off Him.

I have been surprised by this very same thing. May we never allow it to stop us from speaking the truth found in Gods word.

If tomorrow, you should find that I'm gone.
Sing praises to Jesus! I'll be with him, where I belong.

As I have grown and matured in Jesus, I have come to understand that certain things go with the territory. Persecution is part of it clearly, for if our Saviour was persecuted how could we expect to escape it. Besidesm He has fore warned us. But I have a blessed assurance that makes my heart leap in Joy.

2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. {believed: or, trusted}

What an awesome Scripture and what a wonderful song it was made into. And what a Joy and profound priviledge to know HIM, in Whom I have believed.

And what a priviledge to know Him for the Holy, Righteous, and JUST God that He is and not for the mealy mouthed, just stepped out of the Beauty Salon, spineless, New Age, sack of mush that so many want to betray Him as.

My Jesus is a Man's Man. A Man that suffered more than any man who ever lived. A God who loves all people and suffered for the ungodly and paid the penalty for all sins. I know Him as a JUST and HOLY God Who will not wink at sin and blanket pardon everyone just because He could never send anyone to a devil's hell.

My Jesus makes His Love and Grace available to ALL who will receive it but will force it on NO ONE! And those who reject Him will surely suffer the consequences they freely choose!

I have to agree Jesus suffered more persecution than we will ever know, and we too shall suffer persecution, not just by our enemies but also our family, and friends. I would like to add a couple more scriptures on this subject.

Matthew
5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Matthew
5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

May we never let those who persecute us stop us from shining our light for others to see.

Amen.  We find that the ones we are closest to and love the most will usually be the ones who will persecute the most.  Staying strong in our walk with God is most important during those times.

Just adding a little testimony. One week ago I was shopping when I had
a person walk up and say something that was certainly an attack
from the devil. Well I forgave, blessed and knew who my enemy was rebuked and said I would not except that into my spirit.

Well Praise God. Well approx one week later a lady walked up to me in
the same shop. I didn't know her and said how much I had blessed her.
The exacted opposite of what was said to me was said to me and even
in the same shop.

Praise God to use her to bless me. God is just so very good and cares
so much for us.

That's a wonderful testimony Carmen! It's always a thrill to see how God works through other people.

Problem is many times we do NOT see God working in or through other people. We need to be ever aware that in the life os a Christian there are no accidents. No one ever comes into our lives by accident, but all is done for a reason and by divine appointment. May God help us to open our hearts and SEE what God is showing us daily!
