Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
I'm sorry I don't know your experience. No doubt the devil confuses us with a thousand conspiracy theories.
However we are called by God to expose Babylon. When her identity and her sins are made known to God's people who are in Babylon, they will be ready to come out of her. This is lifting up Jesus: to do His will. When the sins/characters of Babylon are exposed, those who come out of her will seek God's glory.
The church has refused to preach this message. The SOP tells us our job is to expose the sins of Babylon. This is the 2nd angel's message, reinforced in the 3rd angel's message. When this message is successfully preached, the latter rain will soon follow.
We all need to get on with the program.
I don't disagree with you that we ought to expose error. But there is a right way and a wrong way to do it.
And for the most part, from what I've seen during the 10 years that I have been an SDA,
we aren't doing it the right way.
"The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." Gal. 5:19-21
In what manner are we to overcome it?
"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." Rom. 12:21
And what is the good that we ought to do?
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other." Gal. 5:22-26

Thus we expose the error.
I think what you quote is how to overcome sin and produce the fruits of the spirit.
But there are deceptions in the endtimes. We are to help our brothers and sisters by exposing these deceptions. These I think are two different things. But I'm just going to leave it like that. We can disagree but not be disagreeable.

Again, you missed the point because you are not looking at this with the right frame of mind.
You need to take your eyes off of the surface of the law for a moment and focus them on the Spirit to understand what I'm trying to tell you.
Truthfully, why should we expect those who disagree with us doctrinally to agree with us when our actions don't even agree with Christ's?
I know a few people who are running around kinda paranoid about what is "happening", and I agree with woobadooba, our focus should not be on what is "happening" around us, it should be on Jesus.
These things sometimes act as distractions distracting us away from what should be our focus.

"Calamities will come - calamities most awful, most unexpected; and these destructions will follow one after another." - Evangelism, p. 27.
"to prepare for events of the future, which will soon come upon them [us] with blinding force." - Selected Messages, p. 142.
Those who are not 'running around with paranoid' will be caught unprepared. Argue with the facts please.

Did Christ ever tell us to run around paranoid, or did He say:
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going." Jn. 14:1-5
If we know the way to the place where Christ wants us to be, why then should we be paranoid.
Honestly DL, it's this kind of usage of the SOP that you disclose that really turns me off, and causes me to not even want to read her books. Although, I've read most of them already. But still, it really turns people off.
Her writings were never intended to make us paranoid, but to give us hope.
Again, don't focus on the coming calamity, but on the Christ who can, and will save us from it.

That's fine. You do what you have to do.
