I tried lying in the sun to get that golden look, but I would just come back looking like a lobster. Some girls even look completely orange instead of golden brown. o_O I felt frustrated because I couldn't fit into this standard of beauty that makes girls and women lightly toast the itside layer of their skin to be accepted for beauty. This is me: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...eltTesting.jpg
As you can tell, getting a tan would probably make me...explode. I no longer feel like I have to damage my skin and I will thank myself in 10 years! Natural skin coloring is always the prettiest, you don't have to put chemicals on your skin. Light or pale skin is just as pretty as golden brown or olive skin! FACT: Did you know that it only takes five minutes under the UV lights of a tanning bed for it to DAMAGE your DNA? Even if you don't get a burn. Sun tanning can also cause premature aging. It breaks down your collagen barrier which causes wrinkles and your pores to enlarge. Anyone else with light or extremely pale skin go through this ordeal and decide tanning for beauty wasn't worth it? |

Thankfully, I never overdid it, though I used tanning beds for awhile for the reason that bees can't bother you there. |

We had a neighbor who laid out often, with oil and a reflector. He is about 60+ now, and still as white as ever. |

I have pale skin too, I also tried sitting in the sun -it's not worth it! I have a lot of freckles from that, but they are fading.
I wear sunscreen every day, even in the middle of winter. I just burn so easily! I hope you wear sunscreen every day too, you'll have less wrinkles than every one else when you're old hehe

| | | | I have light skin and everytime I would try to tan I would end up beat red with blisters all over my skin so I gave up. I heard tanning can give you wrinkles later on down the road.....
