What do you do to observe Lent (if you do)? Do you give something up? Take something on? Something entirely different?

This year the fast I have taken on includes a commitment to my health in various ways- I figure I'm no use to the Lord if I'm dead, whether physically or spiritually. So that has taken on a few different meanings. I've embarked on a serious study of Paul's epistles as well.
I have given up chicken. Now I realize most people think (or seem to) that it's red meat I should give up, but I eat chicken like others (who are not begans) eat red meat. Chicken is one of my, um... ambrosias.
I can already feel mysefl wanting it... I should stop talking about it now. HEhe.

The world isn't the way it's supposed to be. That's why there's us. Champions. We live as though the world were as it should be, to show it what it can be. -TV's Angel
If you want to arrange it, this world you can change it, if we could just somehow make this Christmas thing last... By helping a neighbor, or even a stranger, and to know who needs help, you need only just ask. -TSO

I've made some various promises for Lent. I'm observing the Lenten fast of two small meals and one full meal 6 days per week. I'm also using the fast as well as exercise to improve my physical health.
I'm also going to visit some different churches in the area for spiritual growth.
