Dune took her little hand in his and squeezed it gently. "Who, Martini? Don't you worry, kiddo. I can't imagine Martini dying of a broken heart, and no one's invited her on the quest either, so we don't have to worry about her getting in a fight." Although if she stays here, some Elf might be driven to murder by means of insanity. "Why do you care about her?"
"Because she looks lonely."Maddie frowned looking back at Dune. "Do you know her real well?" MAddie asked. "Do you know where Mr. Gandalf is? Maybe he can make her not so lonely. He is really very nice."
"Well that's what happens when you're mean to people." Dune replied stubbornly. "They don't want to hang around you. So now she's sitting over there. Besides, Lilli's there." He patted the girl's hand, touched by her worry. She's such a cute little kid. "No, I don't know where Gandalf is, but I don't think he likes her either."

"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort."
"Oh." Maddie twisted her lips trying to think of something adult like to say. "How is your food?" as the words left her mouth, her eyes got real big. "You dont think Mr. fododo ate the meat?? Is that why he is sick??"
"My food is-" Dune burst out laughing. "Nooooooo! Oh Maddie, don't worry about the food. It's not the food, I promise. Remember, some bad guys hurt him? It was on the way here. You don't need to worry abou the food." He calmed down a little and glanced at her. "Why? Is your tummy still hurting?"

"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort."
"YEs." she frowned. "Mr. Gary gave me so much to eat... I tried to eat it all, but I couldnt. I hope the king does not think I am rude." she frowned looking down ashamed.
Dune chuckled. "You know, it's unhealthy to keep eating when you're not hungry. I'm sure the king won't care. I'll bet he'll even give your leftovers to people who are really hungry. So next time, stop when you're full, okay?"

"But Daddy always said to eat what you are served." Maddie looked at Dune. "Promise?"
Gary cringed and hissed quietly in guilt as Madeline complained about how much food he had given her. "Uh... sorry Maddie." he murured, hanging his head a little. "I, uh... I'm not used to bein' this hungry. Guess I got carried away in both our cases, eh? Again, I'm really sorry. 'Round here, you don't have to worry 'bout eatin' everythin', k?"

Maddie smiled at Gary.. "But it was all so good!" She giggled. "Don't worry... be happy." she sang in her little voice.
"Well your daddy didn't want you to get sick to your stomach either." Dune grinned and held up three fingers. "Promise."
"YAY!" she cheered. Giggling again, the food was making her tired, she yawned slightly, fighting to keep her eyes open. "So Dune, what was your family like?" she asked.
