Reps: 8 (power: 0) | | | What Joseph has to teach us I am currently studying the Penituech (sp) and I just recently ran into Joseph and I beleive he has some things to teach us. Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers, tempted by the wife of Potepher then imprissoned. He was doing exactly what God wanted, but he was punished for it. I personally think the story can show us 2 things.
1. that your finicial situation mattes NOTHING in terms of your faith and righeousness.
2. that when you sin it is ultimatly against God as Joseph stated himself in Gen 39:9
3 It is the will of God that you go through trials and that you might be poor by the will of God as Joseph himself tells us in Genesis 45:8 |

1 Cor 10:13
here hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Also, something to think about:
John 15:1-3
15:1 "I am the true Vine, and my Father is the Gardener. 2 He lops off every branch that doesn't produce. And he prunes those branches that bear fruit for even larger crops.
(The Living Bible)
The second part of the passage, Jesus tells us that as we bear fruit for the kingdom God, He (Christ) will prune us, so that we may produce even larger crops.
When you are going through trials, and tests, know that Christ is using and preparing you to make a larger impact for the body.
Peace |

Reps: 8 (power: 0) | | | Yup, I agree Ejo! Other fine points that he has to teach us is that in a good christian life YOU WILL walk through the valley of the shadow of death. Joseph did the right thing and ended up in prision for something like 7 years... | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
