This is my idea to let people know there are others like you who haven't given in and had sex outside of marriage. We all know abstainence can be tough, but it's the best policy when it comes to holiness and respecting others who are committed to living a holy lifestyle.
Let's hear from everyone who does!

Reps: 3,640 (power: 16) | | | There are lots of us who are committed to abstinence outside of marriage. While television may give the impression that everyone in college is having sex, in real life there are plenty of us who are not.

Reps: 15 (power: 0) | | | I haven't waited but that's before I understood what God wants from me. I just wanted to commend those who have or are waiting to get married. It's rare. I think the percentages for men who have sex before marriage is 96-98% and women is 92-94%. |

That sounds quite high to me. Do you happen to have the source of those numbers or at least what group they are referring to (America, worldwide, Christians only, all beliefs, urban, rural, or what?)

I read it my one of intro to psych. books about 5 years ago. It was a long time ago. |

I'm sure those are going to be biased heavily in the pro-sex-before-marriage direction. I don't think it's really that many. Either that or a lot of girls are pretty promiscuous and I don't know it.

i'd have to agree with him on this. I really don't believe its that's high. Also lots of people tell others they are sexually active although they are still virgins because of the stigma involved with it all. I myself have been guilty of this simply because i didn't want to deal with the shocked looks people give you.

But it is high...this isn't the 1950's, more and more people are having sex before marriage...by making this statement i'm not condoning it i'm just bringing in the reality of things. | | |
