lovesblessing..... So, soulish cleansing is a good thing! Just remember, you can't do it, only Christ can! By His gift of grace to us! If we speak about ourselves as God sees us, and not as the devil wants us to see ourselves, it will eventually manifest in our lives! We are the righteousness of God, in Christ! We are free from condemnation! As Christ is so are we in this world NOW! Not gonna be, but NOW! Think about just what exactly Christ is right now.......God says we are that as well, right NOW!

Here on the fourms we talk alot about the Spirit, the New you. But I want to talk about the soul..and what all it's comprised of. I know it's comprised of feelings and emotions and awareness, experiances of things around you. Paul said that we might be made perfect in ever aspect of our makeup.. spirit, soul, and body. And that we believe to the saving of the soul.
The reason I'm getting into this might be for personal experiances I have been having for at least 3 or 4 months now.
Especially in soulical dreaming. I know that I'm a new creature in my spirit man, and all things are new, but a few months ago, I prayed to the Lord to cleanse my soul. Why I prayed this I don't really know. Right after this I started dreaming soulical dreams. I dream of things that happened in my life that hurt deeply, that I never think about during my waking hours. Those experiances I thought had long gone, because I'm not aware of them anymore after Christ came into my life. I'll dream it, and and mourn with tears washing down my face in this dream. I honestly feel like I am in mourning. Then the mouring is over and it stops, in my dream I feel refreshed..when I wake up, I feel a little guilty for having the dream, but still feel like something has been lifted.
I didn't mean to make this a physiological study of the human makeup, But has anyone else ever prayed for the Lord to cleanse their soul, and experianced this? I have had 5 dreams so far, that has really happened in my life, a couple that I truly could not remember in my conscious state. One was when I said some very unkind words to a girl friend of mine when we were teenagers. But did remember after the dreaming. I got to appologize to her in my dream.
Is this God cleaseing the soul? And do you feel this is the way God would do it, by dreaming them, mouring over it, and feeling cleansed. I know that all things are new, but it was me that asked to be cleansed. I don't even know why I asked God to do this, since nothing was bothering me in my conscious state. I just wonder, we hear alot of trouble people have in the flesh, but can there be a troubling that your not aware of, in the soul?

Pops always did think that you had some strange experiances, Yes, I believe in soul cleansing. The bible even states that our carnal minds (soulish part of us)are enmity against God. Rom 8:7 ~ Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. It wasn't Ervalee Conner that you got into the fight with in front of the church was it . I'll never forget that as long as I live!!! How come you never told me about these dreams before? You are to private for family!!! Gee, don't ya think that I would have found that interesting? I'm not a "scoffer" ya know.

Oh, lol. I never dream at night...just if i lay down during the day. Does that mean I am Spiritually stunted, or just don't go out deep enough I've had visions though. Last one was of Tammy twisting her hair sitting on your couch at Kingvale. Robt came into her life right after that. Was that a blessing or a warning ?

One of the strangest teaching prophecies I have ever spoken was this:
"Your spirit is as iron. Static, unchangable, unmoveable."
I think of the spirit as more of an "organ", or a set of organs than a center of personality or identity. I do not even see it as "alive" in the sense of our soul is alive. I used to see my spirit as a separate "miniature person" that lived in the center of my chest... fully equiped with a personality and mind. He would just sort of hang around in there and tap me on the shoulder when I did something wrong. Kind of like in the cartoons.
I do not think my spirit has a personality, a mind (at least not a "mind" in the way we think of it) or "feelings". It is "static, as it is not "animate" as we think that word.
In the computer industry we have software and we have hardware. The software is just that... soft. It can be changed, modified and undated. The hardware is just what it sounds like. It is hard. It does not change. I see my spirit to be hardware. It is hard wired. It does not change. There are little hardwired "programs" in the hardware (in computers we call it the "bios").

I think one of the hanging questions is what the "mind" consists of. Now, I wish I had a better concept of computers!
When I think of cleansing, I think of "pruning".
Indeed, pruning is a work of God, but not like we think, I think...
John 15:2 - Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit.
Oh, no. It looks like God wants to cut my branches!!!
It sounds like he wants to bring calamity into my life to teach me a lesson and keep me humble!!!

What? I'm cleansed already because of the words of Christ??? I'm already pruned because of the Word??? But, how do I do this? How does it take place in my life???
John 15:4 - Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me.
Dwell in Him. If I dwell in Him, then He will do in me what alone only He can do.
And, this is what we call the Grace of God!!!
I think when we do some "soul searching", we are opening up our lives to the work of the Holy Spirit.
I know that I have asked the Lord to cleanse me before... and I believe that when I did, that the Lord has allowed the Word in me to be tested.
Now, I simply depend on the Word to grow in Me. I depend upon it, and allow it to do in me what it does.
When you heat gold, the dross comes to the top in order to be skimmed.
There are reasons for us to encounter our inward life through our dreams and thoughts... and that the reason is so that we, through the Holy Spirit, have that chance to skim the dross that He reveals to us.
No, it's not our choice to do so. I believe that the Lord has changed us inwardly, yet we must cooperate with that working that is within us.
