Reps: 193,069,531,476,161,632 (power: 193,069,531,476,173) | | | The GT Reconciliation Thread This has been a difficult week in GT, I think. I hope you won't be angry with me for trying to make peace in here, but I can't help it. I love you guys, and hate to see the kind of stuff we've been witnessing lately.
So I'm proposing we have a reconciliation thread. One where if we've offended someone unnecessarily, been a little too harsh, taken things too far, callously blown someone away with our theological cannon (the gun, not the Canons), or felt the burning need to win at the expense of others, we can come and publicly humble ourselves and ask for forgiveness.
I know this technically isn't the place for this thread, since it's not really a theological discussion, but this seems to me to be the place on CF that needs a thread like this the most.
What do you think? Anyone game? I don't know, maybe it won't do any good, but then again, what if it does?
Blessed Advent everyone!
With love in Christ,
Grace

please forgive me everyone.

gonna make a hot cup of tea and sit next to my laptop and just listen - tired of arguements - all we need is love - that song comes right to my mind - I will add some nice cliparts in here later for our Lord Jesus' birth.

Thanks, pjw.
I, too, have been guilty at times of taking verses out of context to support my own agenda. I ask you all to forgive me. I promise to do my best not to do so anymore.
Blessed Advent everyone!

Grace

Another great thread.

It appears lately that we (including me) we are judging others by using tones that we may interpret differently because its hard to see the true emotions behind the words of a poster. What are issues are we brooding over? Doctrines or Denominations? If we can find out what we are brooding over, we can resolve our differences so that we can get back to discussing rather than attacking. We all are Christians and we have the kind of heart that Christ have. We are to love others because with the Holy Spirit in us, we are to walk in the Spirit since Christ produces the fruit of love.

God gave us conscience. If the truth of God's Word opposes the world's wisdom on a certain issue, you must align yourself with God's Word. Faith is from God, not from man. Man can do nothing to earn or receive it. Martin Luther If we take our doctrines into our hearts where they belong, they can cause upheavals of emotion and sleepless nights. This is far better than toying with academic ideas that never touch life. John Piper Faith is the gift of God – not the result of the persuasion of the evangelist.Jerry Bridges |

Reps: 738,345,300,229,579 (power: 738,345,300,237) | | hmmm.... guess I'm just more accepting than most people. I haven't had anyone tick me off in any of the topics. Though some of them were pretty hairy.
it's all a matter of perspective I guess. The question I ask myself is: Is it healthy to get mad? Is it a righteous anger? If it is, how do I discuss things calmly and rationally.
and the big question when I do actually start getting heated. Is posting the reply right this second really necessary? The topic will still be around 5 minutes from now. I think I'll go read a book or something. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
