armageddonman is correct. It doesnt detract from the FAITH of believers at all, if it was proven to be fake.
However, it would refute those like myself, that hold it as PROOF of the resurrection, since the image was created by a radiation burn when Jesus was raised from the dead.
But again, my knowledge of God comes from the Holy Spirit answering me, not anything in this world.

I honestly was not even aware this was a Protestant/Catholic issue, s0uljah.
Over the years, even though I did not give it much thought, I looked at the shroud as an overzealous Christian attempt to prove Christ's exsistence. It was not until this very thread, that I learned of the Catholic involvement and stakes in this issue.
See? I learned something new!
It now makes perfect sense to me, why all the Catholics in this thread are so vehemently defending the authenticity of the shroud. This is a major credibility issue for the Catholic church. Now I know the need for Catholics to prove it authentic.
Now, I am beginning to see the bigger picture.

I dont recall the Catholic Church claiming it to be real. What are you talking about?
Your disbelief in signs is causing your bias in the face of all evidence.
