Jesus is the Word. The Word is the DNA of Jesus. If we want to be more like Jesus, acting like Jesus, living like Jesus, walking in the power of Jesus, we must have the Word inside of us.

Words of men are so untrustworthy that unless they are recorded and signed, they mean nothing. Generally, "word" does not carry much weight. If a person is words only, he is of no substance.
But the Bible says that the Word is God. So difficult to understand! Such an alien concept! I give up trying to understand with mind.
Instead, I try to understand by experience. The Word I read in the Bible enters my soul and becomes hope and faith. The Word reveals Jesus and the Father to me. Little by little I understand the Word. |

When God said....or spoke a word great things happened...to get a idea of the power of God's word, I think about the little atom...when it is split...it SPEAKS in a loud and thunderous voice that none can bear to hear it...and the light from it..none can bear to look at...and of this is the power of a tiny atom...just think of the power emitted when God speaks....just a thought love Pony |

Just to add to that--The Word is God, God is the Word--Get it?
Jesus is the Word made flesh. Everything about Him, the way He walked, talked, everything was Word based! And it is Jesus!
I was thinking about this very verse a few days ago....And I was tripp'n out about Jesus and how he is the Word made flesh. Gosh--How perfect that is |

What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. (v. 3-4, NRSV) I wasn't born because my mother slept with my father. I was born because God said, "Come into being," and my Lord Jesus Christ said, "Let my Father's word be completed." God said to my Lord, "I desire to put life into this being, who will be named Rupert, but he will fall into sin and be lost from me. My heart will suffer." My Lord said to God, "Father, create him as you will. Though he will certianly fall into sin, I will save him from death with my cross and he will remain in your love." Thus I was born, to remain in God's love and sustained by the Lord's grace, to let the world know how great God's love is. Lord, Change me for the Father's love and your grace must shine through me. Amen. |

One of my all time favorite scirptures. I love the literary style of the KJV with this verse.

The biggest enemy of prayer, as far as I am concerned, is discouragement. I pray but I see no change. I pray holding the promises of God recorded in the Bible. But when I see no changes with my eyes, I get discouraged. I have been thinking about this verse a while. The more I reflect on it, the more I become glad. Words of God are light. So are all that stand on the words of God. Therefore, prayer is light, and darkness does not overcome prayer. I hear God speaking to the angels of darkness for my sake, "His prayers shall not be overcome." Amen. Father, I will continue to pray diligently for my church. I give praise and honor to you for this promise that I can trust. Amen. |

He came for a witness, to bear witness of the light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that light, but was sent to bear witness of that light. (1:6-8) Israel could not accept Jesus without John's baptism of repentance. The nation had to repent in order to be prepared for the Messiah. Repentance is the key that unlocks the riches in the Lord. Revivals are preceded by confession of sins by the multitude. Why then is repentance so difficult? Is it because people are so rebellious that they are incapable of repentance? Or is it because God is withholding the spirit of repentance from his children? I don't know, and I don't need to know. I only ask the Lord to lead us to repentance for greater riches of God. Amen. Rupert |

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. I believe that the biggest error in our churches today it that they miss the fact that Jesus is the Exact image of the Father. If people would take Jesus to be the exact image of the Father's nature and purpose.... all doubt regarding prayer and the blessings of God would vanish. If we would hold up Jesus as the will of God manifest, our prayer lives would be revolutionized. Never again would we pray "if it be thy will". That would be a moot point. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
