santa doesnt exist anyway but kids of other races still believe in him (although i never bought into it) and kids of other races like to see that people are both same and different then they are. its something called "diversity"

I never made an issue of it so I asked my son who is now almost 14 and he said he never thought about it, though I suspect some would and do feel something about it. LIke I said, I think that all children (especially black children) need postive images they can relate to.

That's interesting about your son. He sounds like a nice kid. I'm with you on the positive images for all children. That's my worry currently - there are so few true role models for children of any color.

I just couldn't stay away.
Actually JetGirl researched and Santa was a Turk so only a Turk can play him. And we know that the EU is up in the air about whether Turkey is a white European country or not!  |

Martin Luther King was real. and he was black.
Santa Claus is not. he is based on a real guy who happened to be white but that was "st nick" not santa claus. santa claus can be portrayed as black, white, asian, or hispanic. it doesnt matter. should we also only have a santa claus who only speaks Turkish since the original St. Nick was from Turkey?
