head covering

I have been doing a lot of research, and I'm starting to see that God does want Christian women to cover their heads.

Do Pentocostals typically practice this or no?

If you do cover, do you cover at all times or just in prayer. And if do cover all the time, how did you start doing it? I guess I feel a bit self-concious about it right now.

Hi.. I go to a Holiness church. The women don't cut their hair and we wear only skirts. We don't cover our heads at all.. I have never seen a Pentecostal woman do this.. But that is just me..

It is one thing to praise God when things are going the way you want them to, but when you praise God when you are in between a rock and a hard place, that is when you can expect great things to happen!

you will see this in the Brethern, Amish, and Friends societies. There are some churches over in England where it is expected also. it is done as a symbol and recognition of the "covering" (authority) of a husband over his wife or a father over his daughters in all spiritual matters, so that the wife/daughter will not outshine her husband/father and usurp or disregard the authority and responsibility given to him by God.

I agree that we have gotten away from this today and it is not often taught.
50 years ago it was quite common for women to wear hats to church. and before that women going out into public places would also not be caught without a hat outside the house, even if it was a utilitarian sunbonnet.

Thankfully women these days here in the states dont have to go by those (in my opinion and hopefully I dont offend anyone) rediculous rules, at the churches ive been to. The women at all the AoG churches that Ive been to wear whatever they want...you feel like sweatpants...or shorts....or pants....or skirts...or dresses..whatever ....the bible says Man see's the outside , but God see's the inside.

When you get into the idea of head coverings for a women, you'll get into the area of cutting/not cutting your hair.

Humbleservant86, tell us a bit about how you feel about head coverings?
