All you blessed Bible Scholars and Pastors.......

Can someone show me where in the bible we get the trinity idea? I looked up in my Strongs Concordance and I could not find trinity mentioned in the bible, nor triune. Thanks!

You won't find the word "rapture" either, but that doesn't mean the concept doesn't exist.

The concepts for triunity are found throughout the entire bible, beginning with the first verse.

In short, the bible points out that the Spirit of Jesus is also the Holy Spirit of God, who is also the Father in Heaven. Of this concept we make one word: tri-unity.

Re: All you blessed Bible Scholars and Pastors.......

The trinity is not mentioned in the Bible.

We have record that "A voice was heard from heaven saying "You are my beloved son, today I have begotten thee." At the time that this was spoken, the Holy Spirit, visible in the form of a dove, descends upon Jesus. In this passage we can see that the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are distinct individuals. There can be no tenable argument to the contrary.

However, this being said, it cannot be claimed on the basis of that record that either Jesus or the Holy Spirit are God - the subject is not addressed.

Early in John, the record shows that "No man has seen God at any time." Yet the Bible records that Abraham, Sarah, Moses, 70 elders of Israel and either one or two others have seen God. Does this make John's account an error?

Later in John, Jesus is quoted as saying "No man has seen the FATHER at any time." - and here we have the answer to the seeming contradiction. In the first statement, John has used the word "God" in the same way that many people still do, meaning "the Father." So then, While no-one has seen the Father, many have seen God. ergo, either the Father is not God either, or God has more than one identifiable personage.

Is this so difficult to understand? The concept of a person being body, soul and spirit is not unfamiliar. It is not uncommon for any of the three persons of a human's makeup to be referred to as that person. nor is it uncommon for the three persons of God's makeup to be referred to as God. The divisions of the trinity have their corresponding roles - if it were not so, man would not be made in the image AND LIKENESS of God.

Jesus is identified as being God with the statement "being in very essence God, yet counted it not robbery to be made for a little while lower than the angels."

The Father is identified as being God by statements attributed directly to Jesus.

Can't recall any statement directly attributing Godhood to the Holy Spirit, though there a some passages which make the inference.
