It could be alluded to indirectly. Some believed it was the beast. I dont know - but it does have amazing capabilities. An inference could be made that it is the beginnings of the beast or a tool by the beast.
For me, it is only speculation. I dont really put much salt into it but dont toss it out either.
"And the Lord doth said unto thee: Create thy internet for thou shouldest communicate across great distances. 'Tis my bidding for thou to knowest what thee can from blogs, instant messengers, and websites. Go ye and do this immediately."
I don't remember the reference to this verse but I think it was somewhere in Psalm 152.
Does the Bible say something about communication being really easy in the end times?
Rev 11:7Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them. 8Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. 9For three and a half days men from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. 10The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth. 11But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. 12Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on.
Sure sounds like it. 100 years ago it could take days for news to circle the globe, but we see here the world will gloat over them. This all happens in the span of 3 1/2 days so yes I can see how indirectly this shows the existence of the media in the last of the last days.
