Had the boys not killed themselves, the parents of this girl would have pursued justice to the full extent of the law. So forgive anything, yes, but pardon may be extended only if the person can warrant it.
Well put!!!!

Though some things may seem impossible to forgive, the Holy Spirit working in us can makes the changes we cannot make on our own. We are called to forgive so that we can be forgiven. We crucified Jesus and yet He said," Father forgive them for they know not what they do".

Well, it depends on what you mean. Can we forgive anything on our own? Of course not. But, with God's help, we can. I have forgiven the people who have raped and abused me. I have a friend who has forgiven the men who murdered her husband. It can be done, but it takes a LONG time, a lot of healing, and a lot of God's help.

I am to forgive all, for others, just as Christ has forgiven all for me. In cases where the law has been broken (murder, rape, etc) forgiving someone is not the same as pardoning someone from the consequences of the crimes they committed. They still must serve whatever sentence the law requires. That is God's purpose for government. (Romans 13)

yes, although I believe our forgiving someone else is for our spiritual benefit, not theirs!!

When we commit a sin of anykind (whether its just a 'little white lie' or murder!), we must each on our own go to God to repent & ask forgiveness...another person cannot grant that kind of forgiveness, only Christ.

Yes we are to forgive as Christ forgave us.... he did not just forgive the people people who mocked him... he forgave even those who nailed him to the cross... So from this we can see that we need to forgive everything... it may be hard and we may not want to forgive.... but we need to.
Just my two cents...
