Yeah, my husband just explained to me he has to wait for Arizona and all the others which are not out yet too. I meant that he had all of them which are out except Oregon.

Ah, the enigmatic Oregon quarter - you know, now that I think of it, I don't recall ever seeing the coin of Oregon either.

I just collect the states that are significant to myself. (;

Hi , I just checked my purse stash and I have one each of Arkansas, California, and Oregon. I have some in my cash box (at work) that I will check too. I put them aside & when I get a few I take some money to swap for them so I can put them in my purse stash & eventually they make it into the collection at home! Happy coin hunting!

Yes, I checked at work. I have 3 or 4 of California, 2 or Oregon and 1 or 2 of Arkansas. I also got another Bufflo nickel (the new one). I have plenty of the other two new nickels.

Witness. has a spectacular aura about
Howdy all,

I have been collecting proof sets and silver proof sets for years. You have not seen a beautiful state quarter until you see it as a silver proof.

In fact, the price has gone up dramatically for the first state quarter silver proof sets. I am glad that I purchased two when I had the chance.

I know, it may not be as fun as finding them in your change, but you really can not beat the quality that the silver proofs provide. Also, you are assured that you get all of the new ones.

In time, the quarters will not really be valuable, but the proof sets will be. Anybody remember the bicentenial quarters?

John

Yes, I have several of them. I also have 3 of the Susan B. Anthony dollars and some $2 bills . I have a few other coins that I keep when I find them - pure silver dimes, silver quarters, copper pennies, etc. I don't have any proof sets. I just collect them for fun & to pass on to the grandkids to see when they are grown!

My mom and I collect the quarters as they come out. I'm not sure if we are up to date on those for '05 yet or not, though.
