Corpus does smell like fish. San Antonio smells nice. I'm jealous of people who live in San Antonio. But at least in Corpus we don't have it as bad as those poor shmoes down in way South Texas, where it smells like poorly-regulated Mexican industrial plants. Blehhhh
I think a blindfolded traveller in Texas could probably pinpoint their general locaton based solely on sense of smell.

I've been to Appleton with a group of friends (early music specialists) when one of them bought a harpsichord which belonged to Wanda Landowska.
I've been to Milwaukee twice, and Madison once.
Madison reminds me a lot of the way Austin used to be, before the developers came in and over-developed Austin. Austin = Paradise Lost to developers. |

I've been to arizona/nevada, but other then those 2 and Pennsi, I have never been in a state off the east coast (been in all of them except georgia, NH, and Maine). I've lived in the same town for 21 years, and lived in one town 10 min away before that. Needless to say I'm a local in my area.

Reps: 6,169 (power: 17) | | I like most of Wisconsin's representatives and senators. Feingold and Obey and Baldwin are neato. Do I get some credit for that?

...but not the representatives and senators from Texas?
Don't feel bad. I wrote the New York State Assembly asking them if they'd invade Texas, take over the Capitol, and appoint some decent senators and representatives for us.
I received a letter thanking me for the offer, but they declined.

I here by dub you honorary Wisconsinite.
I've had the great pleasure and honor of meeting all three of those distinguished reps Obey is my hometown's rep, Baldwin is my college town's rep (where else but Madison would elect an openly lesbian feminist liberal?), and Feingold is just plain awesome.
One thing I loved about them is that you could be walking around the UW campus and randomly run into Baldwin or Feingold, even when it wasn't election time.
