DENVER (June 27, 2002 7:40 p.m. EDT) - A federal appeals court ruled Thursday that Columbine High School administrators acted properly when they removed ceramic tiles with religious symbols painted by the families of two slain students.

The decision from the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a lower court ruling, which had ordered school officials to restore the tiles.

The 4-inch tiles were painted in a project to renovate the school after two student gunmen killed 12 students and a teacher on April 20, 1999.

School officials had removed the religious-themed tiles, saying they violated the Constitution's requirement for separation of church and state.

The Virginia-based Rutherford Institute - a conservative group that defends claims of religious discrimination - sued in 1999 on behalf of the families who painted the tiles, arguing their First Amendment rights had been violated.

A U.S. District Court judge agreed, and in October he ordered the tiles restored. Jefferson County Public Schools officials appealed.

Yeah! And you know why? Because "Christians" sit back on thier royal duff and let the handfull of yellow cowards do anything they want in this country. "Christians are in the majority now, in America. No one gets elected to national office without the Christians. Yet they sit back like a bunch of mutes and do nothing.

Oh they tal sure, in Forums like this. They gripe and complain and talk big, but do they write, call, or email their representatives? Do they use thier power at the ballot box???? NO!!!!

The time has come for Christians to put up or shut up.

"Christians are in the majority now"

I highly disagree. They claim it because it is a "social" norm. I think christians are the minority in this country.

Nice try, but the ACLU had nothing to do with this case.

The school administrator that approved the installation of the tiles had stipulated in advance:

"To assure that the interior of the building would remain a positive learning environment and not become a memorial to the tragedy, [area administrator Barbara] Monseu directed that there could be no references to the attack, to the date of the attack, April 20, 1999, or 4/20/99, no names or initials of students, no Columbine ribbons, no religious symbols, and nothing obscene or offensive."

Fleming v. Jefferson County School District

Despite these clear instructions the Christians went ahead and violated virtually every one of Monseu's directives, and then subsequently attempted, retroactively, to litigate their personal religious beliefs onto the walls of the public school. They lost, despite the legal assistance of numerous Christian advocacy groups. No ACLU required.

That's a laugh.

The "yellow coward" that wrote the opinion for the 10th Circuit was Judge David M. Ebel, appointed to the court by none other than Republican Saint Ronald W. Reagan. If you folks aren't satisfied with judges appointed by rightwing conservatives like Ronald Reagan, who would you like to oversee the federal bench, Genghis Khan?

Columbine was one of the biggest victories that Satan had in this country, as he convinced those two young boys to go throughout the school targeting Christians. Yep, you heard it right.

I know you're saying "but...the press said that they were targeting jocks...." Yea, that's one of the slants the liberal media put on the event....those boys were not after 'jocks' or popular kids.....if they had been, then why did they bypass a gymnasium FULL of jocks....
