The Didache just says that "living" water must be used. So, in places that have no room for a large Baptismal pool, I have seen pouring done. However the practice around here is immersion. Just about every parish church that can has a large pool just as you come in. It doubles as a Holy Water Font.

We have one of those but it's definitely not big enough for full body immersion. It's big enough for pouring or sprinkling though.

Ours definitely is big enough for full body immersion. It's also deep--has three steps going into it. And one time at the Easter Vigil those being Baptized wore purple gowns--turned the water light purple upon immersion. The people said that as their faces came up out of the water, it was like they could see their sins being carried away in the Baptismal Water. (When drying off, they changed into clean and dry white robes.)
