Reps: 292 (power: 0) | | Absurd British class structure!? I had my suspicions, but this confirms it. You're some foolish left-wing idealist...
How can you possibly compare the Scots hating the English to the North of England hating the South? It's two completely different things!
For starters, do Northerners write, "F*** off Colonists" on walls outside Army Barracks where a Southern Regiment is based? No.
I'm half Scottish myself, and while the Scots feel a deep sense of national pride, 95% of them recognise the fact that they're actually part of the United Kingdom, and accept that it costs the tax-payer more to keep Scotland running than the government gets from Scotland itself!
Am I Scottish? Am I English? No, I am British, and proud of it, and I will not let this country be dragged into the ground by a bunch of useless bureaucrats and politicans that masquerade themselves as a political party, and the bunch of Anglophobes in Brussels! Tony Bliar will destory this country if we let him, and no doubt the French and Germans will be only too happy to lend a hand.
(By the way, I'm tired and stressed, so I apologise if I sound a little irate! )

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | don't like to break bad news to people who'd rather believe the Sun rather than reading a newspaper or finding out the facts themselves, I assume all the people who'll be voting against have read it? it doesn't give anymore powers to Brussels than already exist, all it does it formalise it in a document, therefore also formalising the benefits too. Theres too many people who read gibbering tabloid headlines and use that as their point of view. Read the whole document, decide yourself or don't vote. This wil be yet another example of a ballot which isn't decided by fact or reason but by hype.

Reps: 292 (power: 0) | | I like the way you said "...believe the Sun rather than reading a newspaper..."
Seems you and I class the Sun in the same sort of category as the Mirror, perhaps?
I like to think that I've read around and about the subject enough to come to my own conclusion. I've read the document, and I'm still not impressed by what I saw.
However, I will agree with you on people simply regurgitating headlines or comments from newspapers. It's not big or clever, and you're likely to get far more credit by coming up with your own conclusions.
( On a completely different track, this could be why the BNP is starting to pick up more votes...)

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | yes, wasn't aimed at you, in fact I'd have more respect for someone who knows the issues and votes against than someone who doesn't who votes for, unfortunately none of the major parties will help the matter, I guess grown up discussion is beyond them. |

Reps: 292 (power: 0) | | | Aye, I'd agree there.
Although I'm cheered up slightly by the Tories saying, "We will accept Britain's vote whatever," whereas Blair will stamp his feet, throw his toys out of the pram, and demand another referendum until Britain votes the way he wants them to.
Like a spoiled brat...

Foolish maybe, idealist certainly, but not 'left-wing' I'd prefer 'independant', my views come from both wings, rational thought and a willingness to question every commonly held belief/misconception. How can you possibly compare the Scots hating the English to the North of England hating the South? It's two completely different things!
Both are an irrational dislike of a group of people most of whom haven't been met. Tony Bliar will destory this country if we let him.
Yes I'm sure he will, he will go down in history as the man that took Britain into the third world war that we are currently in. This would have been avoided if we were govened centrally from Europe. (By the way, I'm tired and stressed, so I apologise if I sound a little irate!)

Reps: 292 (power: 0) | | Ah, you're an understanding soul Rabidone! Bless you!
I understand your viewpoint on the avoidance of war, had we been governed centrally from Europe.
We must be careful though not to tip the balance too far. I think the major mistake that Bliar is making is that he's trying to be Bush's lap-dog, and the EU's favourite person at the same time, and I don't think it's possible.
It may, at some stage, come down to a simple decision for Britain: America or Europe?
