Is the God of the Bible a God of "survival of the fittest?"
1 Corinthians 1:27
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;
The God of the Bible is definately fond of a selection process, but it's more 'survival of the chosen' than the fittest. The 'fittest' army would not need divine assistance for a victory.
