Reps: 39 (power: 0) | | Definition 2: "Kind" would be best desribed as belonging to the same Genus, Species or Sub-Species.
Um, these three things are very different, it can't be all three at one time. |

Silly boy. Obviously, a "kind" is whatever the argument requires.

Yes, all creationists are stupid, illiterate and narrow-minded.
Easy, otherwise they would be evolutionist! So easy in fact that you look not so intelligent, educated and reasonable. You must be a creationist ! |

PLEASE GIVE ME A DEFINITION OF KIND - so I can apply this term when and where I please.
By the way, an example is not a definition. So don't say 'kind' means like a dog is a 'dog kind'.
Please provide me with a cast iron definition that I can use with confidence in other realms of the known flora and fauna.
Forgive me because I am stupid, but why does this here differ from the word 'species' as used by Darwin? |

KIND:
3. Nature; style; character; sort; fashion; manner; variety; description; class; as, there are several kinds of eloquence, of style, and of music; many kinds of government; various kinds of soil, etc. How diversely Love doth his pageants play, And snows his power in variable kinds ! -- Spenser. There is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. -- I Cor. xv. 39. Diogenes was asked in a kind of scorn: What was the matter that philosophers haunted rich men, and not rich men philosophers ? -- Bacon.
{ A kind of}, something belonging to the class of; something like to; -- said loosely or slightingly.
{ In kind}, in the produce or designated commodity itself, as distinguished from its value in money. Tax on tillage was often levied in kind upon corn.
-- Arbuthnot. Syn: Sort; species; class; genus; nature; style; character; breed; set.
As far as I understand interchangeble in this discussion if everybody knows that with 'kind' species is meant? |

That is precisely why this discussion occurs. Creationists change 'kind' on a whim. They really use it to argue 2 main topics.
They use it as against speciation being observed and they use it to make the Noah nonsense seem plausible.
But I ask you - are donkeys and horses of the same kind?
