Reps: 1,302 (power: 10) | | | Finally Planted! It has been an incredibly late winter for us in New England. Usually my peas go in the ground around March 17. NOT this year! We had snow right before easter and my ground was totally frozen until last week. We had rain after rain after rain.
SO TODAY I GOT MY PEAS in and I am so happy.....Built that teepee for the kids! Planted the green beans in side so they will be ready for May.
Got my easter plant bulbs in the ground too.
It felt soooo good to get into the dirt. Made me wish for zuccini and tomatoes.

I love to eat peas raw. Does anyone else here do that?

Did it snow where you are today? It snowed here for about two or three hours, though it didn't stick at all. I've been holding off on planting anything just because it's been so crazy and now with the cold days today and yesterday I think I'll wait until next weekend to plant. I really want to do tomatos and asparagus this year. |

yup. we do! My kids eat them that way. I have to make sure that they wash them before they pop them into their mouths. I grow the sugar snap so they can eat the pods and all. It is one of the few vegtables that my 17 year old will eat too. His favorite way is raw so I have to always pick extra for him when I get them for dinner!

Reps: 1,302 (power: 10) | | | Sweet Caroline,
What state are you in?? I think I would have screamed if it snowed Wednesday, right? It did get below freezing all week at night. I may have to replant the morning glory, sunflower and squash seeds. I brought in what I could. I covered it all. But a whole week of freezing temps is not good!
The peas of course love the cold so they are thriving. It warmed up today, but I am told below freezing tonight.
I don't know much about the global warming theory but seems to me we are missing out on it here in Connecticut!
