3 keys to boldness.

2 timothy 1.7
God has not given us a spirit of fear. but of POWER and LOVE and of a SOUND MIND.
(that word fear is dilea or cowardice)

1.power
that word power in the greek is DUNAMIS.
it means "force, power, miracle"
we receive this when we are filled with the holyghost as in acts 1.8
"but ye shall receive power..."
that is also dunamis.
im sorry, this may get someone angry, but i dont beleive you can have this power outside of the baptism of the holyspirit, and that isnt the same as being saved.
anyway
this word dunimas is used again in ephesians 3.20
now unto him that is able to exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the POWER that works within us.

we can be bold for god becuase we have miracle working, life changing, mountain moving, sickness healing, dead raising POWER! WHO COULD SCARE ME WHEN I HAVE THIS?

2.LOVE
that word love is charity or benevolence.
in 1stcor 13.4
we see that charity suffers long, seeketh not her own, beareth all things, endureth all things.
like jesus, he was bold before he died, not because of great power, but because of love.
he was willing to pay the price, and suffer, so we may have releif.
we can be bold in our affliction becuase were willing to take pain, so others can be free of it.

3. SOUND MIND.
that is to be self controlled or self DISCIPLINED. a disciplined mind.
rom 12.2
be ya transformed by the renewing of your mind.
eph 4.23
be renewed in the spirit of your mind.
coll 3.10
having put on the new man, WHICH IS RENEWED IN KNOWLEGDE after the image of him that created him.
eph 5.25-26
...christ also loved the church and gave himself for it: that he might sanctify it and cleanse it with the washing of water BY THE WORD.

we can have boldness from a disciplined mind.
"STUDY TO SHOW THYSELF APPROVED"
we can study this word untill we can be bold in the face of athiests or agnostics or whoever that brings their so called wise and prudent thoughts to prove us wrong.
we can study to prove ourselves.

I agree with you psalms, the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the key to power! Thanks for your insights!

I like the idea of having a spirit of power and love but I might have missed out on the "sound mind" thing.

LOL!

Remember, a sound mind comes from God. Don't rely on your own strenght - all of us have weaknesses - lift it all up to Him!

it actually means to have a disciplined mind.
you can discipline your mind through studying the word of god.
and you can be bold when people try to argue with you because youve studied and you can prove yourself.
its simply boldness by really knowing what your talking about.

boldness becuase you know you are right, because youve studied.

That's absolutely correct. Discipline, self-control, perseverance. Knowing who you are and what your boundaries are. That is real wisdom.
