How and When?

How and When did you feel God's call on your life to be in full time Christian Service?

There were many times I felt the God's call on my life to be in full time ministry. I could write many books on that.

However, I will tell you of the time, when the point was driven home in a new and different way.

In January,1998 I had congestive heart failure. My heart did not beat, but only quivered for 4 days. Finally they gave me a cardio-conversion and got my heart "singing" the way it should.

They say I "died" on the ER table, and "they" brought me back. lol! I have no memory of this so called death and had no "out of body" experience.

Nevertheless, there was a strange side effect to all this.
After I left the hospital, I was like a robot, or some sort of machine. I no longer had a need for sleep. I would occasionally get tired but rarely sleepy. When I did sleep, which was only once in a great while, like every 3rd day or so, I would only sleep for a few minutes, maybe as much as an hour, but usually far less. This lasted for one year.

That being the case, I was up alone, and I took advantage of that time to do some intensive study. At that time many simple and basic scriptures took on new meaning to me.
One of those was John 15:16: "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."

Now I believe God has spoken this to every born again Christian. This is surely the most basic of all scripture and the most meaningful to a Christian. Here He speaks of His love and grace. Here He tells us that our salvation has nothing at all to do with oor will. That HE chose us and not the other way around. That we were drawn by His Holy Spirit, and that he saved us for a purpose, and He tells us what that purpose is. Here he speaks of our prayer life and how we get our prayers answered.

This verse is so simple and basic, it is truly milk of the Word. Nevertheless, it is, at the same time, packed full of MEAT!

At this time in my life, this simple verse took on a new meaning to me. I did not hear any "audible voice of God", but there was never a doubt that God was speaking hard to me through this little verse we seldom give a 2nd thought.

Today, I thank God for the heart failure and the side effect that followed. In that time I learned more of God's call on my life than at any time previously. My relationship with Him became more real and personal, and profound.

Since that time, I have taken on new ministries, and my Focus in life has been to spread the good news of Jesus to as many people as possible, through as many means as possible. It was the expressed reason I got a computer in the first place.

I love Jesus as never before, and I Praise Him and thank Him for the time and opportunity to serve Him in a full time way.

I went to a special service in 1987 and the speaker called me out from all the thousands of people and prophesy over me about my calling for the full time ministry. At first I could not believe that the God of the universe would call me – a poor unworthy sinner – for fulltime ministries.

A few years later after I have grown more, again someone prophesy, the very same word, and even that I will go world wide, ministering to woman.

Then I tried to ‘kick open the doors’ for the ministry but unsuccessful. I was so discourage at times and thought that everybody has made a mistake, but now the doors started to open up.

I travelled all over my own country to minister at women conference first. A few weeks ago I went to Zambia and I am booked for Tanzania in July. It is marvellous to see how this prophesies are going into fulfilment. I know I am ‘a preacher in training’ but I am willing to go wherever God needs me.

Thanks Gerry for these very nice words. Sometimes it’s hard to believe in your own abilities. I always feel that there are people who can do this far better than I but with the Power of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit I shall succeed. God invested in me and I with my whole being I will not disappoint God – if it is possible.

I do not presume to give you advice. Nevertheless remember this argument was put forth to God by Moses. He continually told God there were other more qualified. Moses did not believe in himself. But the key is that God believed in him. God knew he could do the job, and God called Moses. Just as God has called you because He believes in you, and He knows you are qualified and can succeed because HE has equipped you with all you need.

I will give you a prophecy now. There will come a day before the year is over and you will see God has called you to be a Moses. He has called you to be THE leader where you are. The one you follow now is not the one God has chosen for this time. The one you follow and submit to now does not have the wisdom for the job at hand. God has given you this torch. You will find love where you have not found it. You will love those you have not loved. And you will find counsel where you have rejected it before.

I believe this is a Word from God for you.
