I would like to see links and stuff about the church, and discussion

I remember seeing a documentary once about day to day life in Vatican City, in which they focussed in one of the episodes on the restauration of tapestries. About 20 nuns, if I remember correctly worked on that. It was their lives work, and the reference and... happiness with which they embraced the task was heartwarming.

It seems apparent that iconographers from the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine) were employed in some of the frescoes. You can still make out where Greek is used in a few areas (such as the medical saints). I wish they had higher resolution pictures available so I could make out the saints names.
Lovely stuff, thanks very much for the links.

Please forgive the intrusion, but I believe The Seed may have been referring to the more recent discovery of a Byzantine era village and possible Church near Natanya. It was uncovered during the construction of a new costal highway and was in the news only days ago.
Here is a link to a narrative written by someone who lives close by. |
